I got this email as well...

Seems as though apple is doing damage control,
And that they aren't in control.

Don't release statements saying "some customers may get their watch sooner" when others are being completely left in the dark.

Most of these orders seem to be going out to the options that sold out quickest, specifically the  Watch Sport Space Gray.

Just seems silly that someone who orders within seconds can't be given a ship date after 10 days.

Yep, just got it as well. Really disappointing. 42mm stainless steel with black sport band. Ordered right when the store was up. Bummed.

I received this email tonight and was overjoyed when I saw "Your Apple Watch Order WXXXXXXXXX" in the title because I thought my watch had finally changed from "processing" to "preparing for shipment."

Instead it's an email with the same vague delivery date. All I know is I'm going to be 110% pissed if people with delivery dates into June receive their watches on launch day and I don't receive mine, after placing my order 4 minutes after pre-ordering opened.

Got this email

I ordered at 12:01, SS with black sports band, confirmation of pre order 4/24-5/8

Nothing charged, still processing. Oh well :(

I'm just upset because people with later ship dates have their tracking already.

Also, what did apple do, only make 1,000 of these things?

They had 6 months...

So what you're saying is that Apple is now promising to deliver my watch in the exact same time frame that they have been promising all along?

Man am I angry about this.

Tar and feather Tim Cook now!

I went through the exact same thing! Such disappointment! SG Sports 42mm Black, confirmed at 12:04AM (PST). Still shows processing so I'm assuming Ill be receiving it towards the end of that promised delivery date. :(

I'm about to order my 42mm Stainless Steel with Milanese Loop. Here we go, I'm jumping in! Company health incentive payout pushed me over the edge by making the SS really cheap!

I, for one, actually hope that it doesn't ship too early because I still want to check it out in the store and cancel it if I need to, haha. My fear is that I'll actually like the Sport model better for some reason—although I really probably need the sapphire cover. I'm always slamming my wrists into stuff and scratching my current watch face. That won't fly on a display. I also like that the Milanese Loop essentially can't be scratched. The main thing I worry about is the casing getting scratched—could that be buffed out by a professional?

Good god people you make it sound as if you won't be able to function if you don't have your watch on the 24th. How are you functioning now?

This is very disappointing.
Apple Watch Sport 42mm Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Band
Probably won't get until 5/8!

+1 for the exact same watch and order time. I was so excited to receive the email about my order, only to read that it still hasn't been processed!

Ordered at 3:04AM (east coast time) and got one of these...

It's ridiculous that an order 4 minutes past *announced* (Apple Store was closed after that timeframe) would be delayed...

NOT COOL...

But I'll wait to see how it all shakes out before getting more pissed...

I haven't gotten that email. Incredibly, they finally charged me for the watch today and moved it to 'preparing for shipment'.

If this email does indeed mean people who got this email won't get their watches by Friday, then I will consider myself incredibly lucky.

42mm SS Black Classic Buckle

Got the email too. Ordered a 42mm SS Black Classic Buckle via phone, along with a space black 42mm SS bracelet model.

Not cc change, no preparing for shipment, nothing....

Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow morning and check my credit card, it will have been charged, and they'll overnight the watch to me so I'll have it Friday.

Not expecting to get the space black one.

Anyone with a "preparing for shipment" status get one of these? I would assume they're only going out to people who's orders still show "processing"

Who's left in the dark?

Customers got shipping notices because their order is shipping. Other customers got emails confirming they will get their orders in the window originally quoted when placing the order. Seems pretty straight forward.

In the forum thread that this story was based off of, everyone who got it was processing still. If you're in the "preparing for shipping" camp, you're probably safe.
