No one is going to have a system to handle this massive load of people, not for just 1 or 2 days a year.
Apple just doesn't learn though.
1. Don't release EVERYTHING on one day. They should have released 10.7.2 several days BEFORE IOS5.
2. Maybe don't open IOS5 to EVERYONE. AT&T customers day 1, day 2 add Verizon, etc. and stagger world wide.
However, IOS5 solves some of this. We won't have to go through iTunes anymore to update now, which is nice. I don't get their set up.
So you have the IOS package downloaded, all it needs to do is install, but it isn't allowed to install unless it connects to the server for permission? Yet, iTunes knows we've had these devices. That should only have ever been for new activations, and it was a foolish way to implement updates from the first iPhone on. iTunes tells you the update is available.... so it already knows... why does it need that last step connection to a server? Just stupid.
