No way I'm buying a child a brand new Pro model iPhone. Maybe a hand-down, more likely an old SE or non-Pro. Does it do text with blue bubbles? Is the battery decent? Is the screen and good shape? Enjoy your hand-down, kid. I'm activating Screen Time. The phone is your canvas.
On one hand Apple goes out of its way to tout their efforts to curtail teen iPhone use - Screen time, parental controls. And in the other, the show their “Pro” level iPhones w/ cute stickers on it. It’s blatant hypocrisy - and people just don’t care or don’t want to see it.
Intetesting. I would never put stickers on any device and even hesitate with covers. I really like how the devices I use look and always cringe when I see laptops covered like that. But that's also yet another reason my last iPhone was the 5. I do currently have a cover on my Z Flip 6 but that is entirely about protection as it seems very fragile. Much like iPhone 3gs to 4, they got rid of all the nice rounded edges and now we can't have nice things that are also comfortable and durable 🙁
Apple understands that kids today are tomorrows adult buyers. They are playing the long game. What I don't get is why people are praising this as if they weren't allowed to put stickers on their phone before Apple supported it
I really would love an iPhone without a protruding camera. I know they could do it, and with a camera that can still take decent shots.
DO NOT give them ideas! I can see it now. Get an iPhone from your carrier at half price as long as you have an ad laser etched into the only areas of your phone you can't cover up with a case.
If you’re concerned about damaging the aluminum or glass casings of your iPhone, Mac, or iPad with stickers, including residue and finishes, consider placing the stickers on a case instead. Alternatively, if you prefer clear cases, place the stickers and arrange them underneath the case like a shadow box or scrapbooking album, and then insert the case into your device.
Actually makes sense though. You give your kid your own phone and you take the new one.

Putting stickers on the aluminum casing is fine. It’s just putting a skin on your iPhone. I’m always putting skins every so often on my 17PM whenever I feel like switching the color up and the adhesive left behind doesn’t damage the finish at all. I just use an alcohol wipe and wherever is left behind comes right off.
