You gotta give the Chinese credit for making this a trend. Apple already did a collaboration with Mandarin-pop band Mayday in 2025 for the same plateau sticker concept. It was even featured on the Chinese website.

Agreed. I wouldn't put stickers directly on the metal. On my Air, I have a dbrand skin that covers the entire lid, and put stickers on it. Yes, the dbrand is a sticker, but it's even and covers everything.

Both my kids cover the phone cases with stickers, and redo them monthly or so.
Decals are fine as long they are easy to remove and clean off. My friend uses a D-brand skin on his iPad Pro M4, which has the iPad internals, because he only uses the Magic Keyboard folio.

Honestly, the only things I put stickers on are my hardback, non-leather journals and power banks. I don’t put stickers on my MBP, iPhones, or AirPods Pro. I’d hate to see any Apple user deal with adhesive residue or damage to their own products, which could lead to a trip to the Genius Bar. Plus, it could lower the trade-in value if the residue or damage is still there.

Please explain exactly how a sticker placed on Apple device is going to cause “damage” requiring repair
If the sticker causes the following cosmetic issues:

- Cracking the back glass due to the removal process being too difficult to clean off (applicable to iPhones only).
- Discoloring aluminium with permanent marks that cannot be removed with screen cleaner and/or cleaning it makes the damage more noticeable. This is particularly evident on space black, multicolored, or dark Apple products like MacBooks and iPads.

See the Reddit post of this example below:

Any other form of damage that warrants repair, including removal of the sticker causing dents, bending, gouges, and scratches on the enclosure, will require a technician to swap the enclosure, top case/bottom case for MacBooks, or replace the back glass.

And? So what?

Nothing, I guess. It didn't hurt it, just permanently discolored the aluminum and you could see outlines. Just a warning to people who care about such things.

I still put them on my laptop, just have a brand skin across the front, and the stickers go on it.

You haven’t got explained why one would need to have “cosmetic issues” repaired

Discoloured aluminum isn’t going to stop your laptop from working

And the idea that peeling a sticker off of glass is going to break the glass is absolutely asinine

I understand it is cosmetic issue because it’s only in par of the look and it ain’t applicable to the functionality of the product itself as no buttons or display abnormalities would happen or coexist with sticker removal.

Still ppl traded in their MBP and mbas with stickers on it. Some still got trade in value in full as long the stickers r off and all minimum trade in requirements at the Apple Store are met.

Only if you go too hard on it the glass would break 😉

I saw you can get an add-on screen for the back so you can frame your selfie better with the back camera. 🍸😺
Xiomi already did it. Check it out. It's the Xiomi 17 Pro... And it's awesome.
Apple has stickers, Xiomi has actual games you can play on the back screen!

Art Decook …

1- Liquid Glass
2- iPhone Pocket
3- Little Finder Guy
4- Camera Plateau Stickers

Funny and cute, I think (except maybe 1-)

5- Siri Matryoshka Doll ?

Yeah I will put a sticker on useless LiDAR sensor so it doesn’t continue to ruin my autofocus in low light.

Also such a stupid idea for Apple to promote stickers on top of this plateau. One should never cover this with anything. It is intended to house most of the high-heat internals and serves as a heat dissipator for already hot phone. Putting stickers on it not only traps heat but will make phone less efficient and in theory will drain battery faster. But maybe that’s exactly what Apple is after?

I totally understand it looks interesting but it is not safest thing to do for the phone

In a few months people would be complaining that the areas covered by the stickers discoloured differently than the rest of the area.

I think they are fine. I wouldn't use them, but sticker videos are all over the internet for all sorts of devices, it's about time Apple cashed in.
