well, I guess there's always Linux.

I was speaking more about the upward trajectory of the price as a whole not being good. They started out slightly less than the dollar figure, even including VAT. Then they were the same as the dollar figure, now they are more than the dollar figure.
View attachment 692974 CONFIRMED, the screen is NOT laminated and does not have the anti reflective coating. Stick with the Air 2. This iPad is a downgrade in everything but processing power.
Yes the cellular chip costs them about $2-3 more. Its the same with more memory. Its all profit. I agree $50 would be better especially with the lower end modelsStill ridiculous that the cellular option costs more than $100.
EDIT: Otherwise I do think this is a good release considering the price point.
This is today's Apple. Everything is inconsistent. All products have different plugs, and those that have same are incompatible with one another.I was hoping any new iOS devices would include a USB-C power adapter and a USB-C to Lightning cable.
Hence, the cut the cost. I.e. It's cheaper.
A full 32g heavier. For comparison, a pocket full of change/coins weighs as much. Also, lower price point.
The drama here is funny, but not unsurprising.
You think the Air 2 is a better purchase? For money for less HP?
This is how they make the distinction between Pro and regular models...View attachment 692974 CONFIRMED, the screen is NOT laminated and does not have the anti reflective coating. Stick with the Air 2. This iPad is a downgrade in everything but processing power.
Starting at $329 in the U.S and £339 in the U.K. The U.K price trajectory isn't looking good.
Less choices for those who want iPad Mini. Can't believe ignorant comments here and especially from people that didn't even read the article. This is great news for the iPad, you'll get a lot more choices and a new iPad for about $300 come on people it's great. The iPad Pro updates are coming.
The iPad line has had more than enough processing power to handle anything iOS throws at it since the Air 2. I spend most of my time reading and watching movies on my iPad rather than playing games. Any task requiring serious horsepower gets done on my Mac. I'd take a substantially better display and lighter chassis over a slight bump in processing power any day of the week.
"We have some exciting product in our pipelines".
One has to wonder how long their pipelines are!!

April is yet to come, so we'll see.
Yeah that's definitely a good point about longevity. Guess it really depends on what you use it for! Hope you enjoy yours!Good point. I was thinking for longevity the performance is probably a better option, and at a lower price too. I only use my iPad inside so I don't think I'll lose anything from the degraded screen, but the extra HP might mean another 6-12 months of useful life. Who knows. I'll likely take the new iPad and then walk into a store to do a side by side comparison once it arrives. I can return/swap it if needed.
