i hope they bring back John Malkovich .. remember the SIRI commercial ... very authoritative ....

Reachability.

Common sense.

To use "reachability", you have to double tap the home button with your thumb, which requires you to hold the iPhone with your fingers resting on the back of the iPhone ( not on the sides) and holding the iPhone near the bottom (making the phone top heavy). All this makes the iPhone easier to fall out of your hand when using this " reachability" feature.

I predict tons of dropped iPhone 6 pluses

I wouldn't say Reachability is a concession. It's the only way to make a large phone manageable. It really is common sense.

...

"Reachability" is needed on iphones cause the "back" button is in the top left of the screen. All android phones have the back button near the bottom.

I noticed no one here was talking about Android, or even mentioned Android, until you brought it up.

For an Apple fan, you sure talk a lot about Android.

I was the second post, and it wasn't directed towards anybody, and I actually like Android (and I've had 3 Android devices), and as an active reader of Droid Life they post a lot out Apple and have posted their commercials before in an attempt to mock.

Not sure what your point is here.

Any app that has a back button can be swiped from the edge at any spot to go back.

Customer preferences evolve, markets change, companies adapt. Simple.

Why people fail to realise this i'll never know. Its precisely because of this that Nokia is no more and RIM is on life support.

Yes, we get it. The iPhone 6+ is huge, but when you continue to repeat how huge it is, it just makes you sound like you're trying to play catchup. Kinda comes off being desperate.

This! It's as if Tim Cook was just told by someone that big phones are cool; "Here is this super big iPhone you people wanted! See, we made it super big!"
Almost feels like a desperation move when they didn't have to do it. So many people would have been happy at 4.5" and they would have understood.

based on polls from customers, they wanted a 5" or bigger phone and better battery life. these were the most important qualities 'we' were looking for. apple delivered.

any bets on the tweener size between the i6+ and ipad mini? iPhone 6++? iPad nano?? i envision a line of apple mobile products about 6-8 of them, like russian dolls, incrementally bigger down the line.

ipos touch > ? > ? > iPad pro 12"

edit: just watched the commercials. they're pretty bad. gonna get worse every time you see em, i'd imagine.

Weird, the ads seem fine, but they seem like typical American ads. While I enjoy the attempt at humor and lightness, I miss Apple's ads that seemed inspirational and like they were attempting to change the world. I remember reading Steve Jobs biography about how he talked one of the guys to come over to Apple saying something to the affect of "do you want to change the world or keep making sugar water?"

Seems like that attitude is a thing of the past. Now it's about Ivy slowly explaining to everyone how cool he is and Apple trying to be mainstream :( They ARE mainstream so they shouldn't be trying to convince anyone or change for anyone. They used to be a company intent on inspiring, breaking molds and thinking differently. Now they seem to instead of invent, many times they just buy companies and integrate them instead of invent from the inside. Still better than windows, but the gap is getting smaller :(

I like these ads. They're focusing on THEIR product and not BASHING a their competitors in a cheap way. M

Of course, people will complain. So to all the complainers, what would you do? Huh?

Instead of basing how about you come up with a better idea? That's right, you can't.

Obligatory reminder of the "Mac v PC" adverts.

That last line reminded me of Dr Steve Brule.

Why the hell would you spend money on Fallon and Timberlake, not show them, but only to have to have TC come back out on stage and say, "do you know who that is?!?!"

They played the exact same commercial this weekend and everyone (I was at a football party) thought it was horrible.

Maybe SHOW the overpaid celebrities you're buying to sell your ****????

No one at your party knew them? Well, that explains a lot! You peeps just aint cool or hip dawg.

What no talented hacks can we get next?

That has to be one of the worst commercials I have ever seen.

I get the sense from these that Apple is a little peeved about having the market push them (into making a bigger phone) rather than before, when they pushed the market.

They're not enthusiastic about a product they were forced to make to play catch-up and it shows in the design (which, hardware-wise, added NOTHING except largeness), showed in the keynote, and shows in their commercials.

Nobody forced Apple to do anything. They could have suck with their smaller phones.

On the Note 3 you can shrink the screen by swiping in from the right then swiping back out

I find it funny how many of the fanboys don't seem to know how phablets work or that many companies have already been at it for ever 3 years. Reachablity is nice, but I think there could have been another implementation. I like Samsung's implementation, but still needs work.

I don't mind these new ads from Apple.

I see a lot of people posting "this is not like Apple" not just with the Ads but on the screen size etc. But honestly I would be more surprised if Apple was to stay the same.

The reason why Apple had 3.5 Inch screens back in 2011 is because it worked back then, people wanted it. Now people are use to bigger screens and thats what people want now, hence why the 6+ is a huge success. Apple made the 4.7 for those who want a smaller phone, everyone is now happy.

Some of us will like these ads. some of us will not like them. Somebody will figure out a way to compare these to "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC."

For the record: I like them :)

Some will also ignore the ones who don't like them and say apple users are sheep for liking them...ah MR, the android fanboys favorite forum lol

For the record: I don't like them :)
