How do you get back to the main screen again once you click on mail or something? I liked the old icons better for LaunchPad and Settings. Love to see iMessages in the cloud! Where do you give feedback for the beta iCloud?

This is a great step in the right direction for Apple.. I don’t want to sync my iCloud account to my work laptop, but I use Reminders etc daily. Having access to everything via the web is super useful for more. The traditional iCloud website is so slow, laggy and painful to use, I never log into it.

The fact that I can log into the beta side on my iPad running iOS 12 is a win lol.

I wish they would put iMessage in this so I can have iMessage on any computer I use.

If all you want is Apple's proprietary messaging (and not SMS too), what you describe should be possible without having to remote control your phone (what Messages on the Mac or iPad do for SMS, I guess; but locally, not through the cloud); but then the difference between phone and web app might be confusing to some.

Wow. They managed to 'innovate' and make it look worse

How? A plain background is part of the "don't distract from the work" philosophy that long ago started to replace overdone skeuomorphic design elements (or neon scrollbars). As for a link in place of Settings, well Settings on iCloud was just the iCloud settings and a bit different looking from Settings on the phone too, so the presence of the app icon was not contributing much to any illusion, IMO.

You can. Just make sure it's a Mac, and create your own user account. When you sign in, you'll be asked if you want to sign into iCloud. Bam, done. :p

You might find their lack of innovation annoying, but these constant complaints about them not innovating are even more annoying.

I don’t think they will ever do that. The end to end encryption of iMessage using a key stored only on your phone is a major selling point. Apple claims they don’t even have access to the key. Letting a web browser unencrypt iMessages would bust that wide open.

When is Apple going to change the name to Apple Cloud?

I totally agree... while the link could be fine:

By unifying all the names at the same time:
  • Apple Music
  • Apple TV +
  • Apple News +
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple Cloud
ect ...

interesting that they still have Find Friends & Find iPhone still segregated on the site. anyone know why it appears the two wont be merged on icloud.com?
I agree, in fact those two Apps are still separate. Maybe they're probably already working on it.

I wish they would put iMessage in this so I can have iMessage on any computer I use.
Agree more!
Google has messages.google.com for its messaging service (as well as the most famous messaging services do the same ... example: web.telegram.org, ect ...)

It would be useful if iMessage were also brought to Apple with https://apple.cloud/messages (maybe with QR code protection) in order to be able to manage their messages directly online.

I wish they would update the Mac app icons to match the rest of the ecosystem. Mail looks particularly archaic. First world problems I know ...
Something like that, right?

With appropriate transparency, it is clear.

YESSS! Why haven't they done this yet? Seems so obvious now that they have syncing of message history in iCloud already. When they added that I thought surely iCloud.com would then gain the ability shortly after. Still waiting...

It’s called Apple’s famous walled garden. For some reason they think people will buy their devices just for iMessage. Sad thing is I’m sure some people do.

I have Apple devices and rarely use iMessage just because not everyone on a group chat has an iPhone and not being able to use iMessage on a non Apple computer is a deal breaker for me. Whatsapp does what I need it to and you can actually quote messages so people know what you are replying to when there are multiple messages. But hey iMessage has Animoji’s and those are super productive vs quoting a message right?

Your statement makes absolutely no sense. Maybe if you explained what you mean. You want to send iMessages from a PC? iCloud for iMessages is supported on Mac and iOS works great

Not everyone owns or has access to a Mac for a good portions of the day. Most companies run on windows.

His statement makes plenty of sense it will just never happen because Apple thinks they will sell less iPhones if they make iMessage a web app.

I can not believe that we still don’t have iMessages in iCloud Web. It is 2019 and we are still missing iMessages in web. That’s funny. Really. Tragically funny.

Going to be one more person wishing for Messages in iCloud. Why hasn't that happened already? I'd love to access Messages when I'm on a PC.

It would be great when iCloud (Mac OS) could sync with iCloud (iOS) and you can share the iCloud Drive.

But I think Apple cannot do that and this function will not be in the GM of iOS 13.

So, an all white background AND smaller icons!

Thanks Apple, from those of us with bad vision we applaud this idiotic move.
Most people with poor vision benefit from higher contrast UIs, and for most people, black-on-white is easier to read than white-on-black. The key word is “most”, and that’s why Apple provides a slew of accessibility settings for people with different needs.

Just tried, couldn't sign in. Was repeatedly redirected to the login.

UPDATE: Fixed it. There was a large thread on the Apple forums, and one guy took 2 months with Apple customer support to find the solution: Had to delete the <home_folder>/Library/KeyChains folder. Log-out / Log-in from my Mac, now the login to icloud.com works again.
