I don’t understand why the background color isn’t matching Dark mode (on). That to me makes no sense. At least have a setting for this (on-line).

I’m sure Tim Apple would love to do that. I get the feeling he detests the "i" prefix.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. If they made iMessage web enabled, then the Android people could use it, as you don’t need an Apple device to create an iCloud account. At least I DON’T think you need an Apple device.

edit: you can create an Apple ID without an Apple device, say for iCloud integration on Windows and maybe Apple Music, but can’t create an iCloud account.
There’s a way Apple could lock it out so you you have to have an iOS device to use iMessage. Kinda like they do with the iWork 1GB thing for non Apple customers.

I believe that there is no iMessage on the web for security and privacy reasons.

There is no iMessage for the web because Apple does not want there to be. There are plenty of messaging solutions that are cross platform and work on web that offer end to end encryption, Signal is one of those.

Edit: Signal removed theirs but they had it at once, opting for the desktop client for windows/mac/bsd now.

I don't mind the white background, But I think the icons should be a bit bigger, Not a big as before, maybe something in-between. Just my personal opinion.

So, an all white background AND smaller icons!

Thanks Apple, from those of us with bad vision we applaud this idiotic move.

The accessibility options exist for a reason. If you can not even be bothered to explore them and blame Apple for not designing to your special needs then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
First thing I do whenever I get a new device is spend 10 minutes making the necessary adjustments to accommodate my vision and other needs. If Apple or any company did not make these options available then you would have a point, but your don’t.

Is it stored end to end encrypted? No. So its just like Google Services. Apple can read everything! Very bad.

Nothing backed up to iCloud is encrypted, Apple just often forgets to mention it (or the apps on the iPhone that are harvesting your data or that whopping fee they pick up from Google) when they are giving their 'Privacy is a basic human right' marketing schtick.

I haven't seen the new beta site yet, but I'm a big fan of Apple's web version of iCloud. It has allowed me to use my Pixelbook chromebook in my workflows alongside my mac OS devices. So any update that advances things is welcomed.

can they make it compatible with iPhone and iPad OS? If I need to log into a iCloud on a different device for whatever purpose I don't want to / have to log in on the OS iCloud and sync EVERYTHING just to quickly access something I need or want to reference (ie; spouses iPad, or whatever the situation is...its a website)

You know this thread is about a website not a device, right? One shouldn't have to adjust "accessibility options" for a specific badly-designed website when the others are ok.

Or the reality is that everything is encrypted on iCloud and during its transmission to/from iCloud. As Apple clearly show here:
