Apple needs a commercial making fun of Samsung or something with comedy. What happened to those old "Mac vs. PC" ads? Those were good.

One if my favorite pixies songs, not sure how I feel seeing it in an ad though.

Also do they even know what this song is about????

"The song's voyeuristic lyrics mostly revolve around a woman's observation of an attractive black man making love to another woman, culminating in the oddly light-hearted but sexual chorus: "Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic / A big, big love""

No so subtle way of saying S5 heart rate sensor is nothing special.

However I do not think the message in this ad is very cohesive.

I like how they included the athlete monitoring his heart rate. Definitely a nock against the Galaxy S5 and it's subpar (~50% fail) heart rate monitor.

I laugh every time I read an article or comment gush over Samsung including a heart rate monitor. I have used the app they are showing in this ad for quite a while. It uses the flash and camera to monitor the rate, no separate sensor needed.

Starts off strong. It's like oh I get it, a bunch of cool, hip, young "trying to make it" musicians are playing a song together using cool iPhone tech that lets them take their art to a new level.

Then just when they've got your attention they shove a boxer, some people taking a picture of a sign and a kid dressed as Godzilla down your throat and you're just thinking what the F just happened? I thought young musicians were playing a song together? Where did this black suburban family, a boxer and two guys in the dessert just come from and what the hell are they even doing?

No doubt a ***** ad. Cinematography is good but the vision is unclear. Compared to the iPad "your verse" ads, these are absolutely trash.

Sounds like she's saying gigantic... Gigantic.. A big big load..

I honestly did not like this ad much. I think the best Apple ad in the past few years was the Photos Every Day ad, that really got me touching and feeling related.

Burn! Heart rate sensor at around the half way mark haha!

It showed me what I could do with an iPhone. Heck, most people think all it can do is text, email, browse the web and take pictures. There's more too it and the more practical applications we can see the better, imo.

One more app question, does anyone know the one showed on apples iphone page?

I don't love this ad or the Your Verse iPad ad. Doesn't focus on normal people using iPhones...mostly videographers and musicians which are a tiny segment of their userbase. The ad also does little to highlight the design and build quality of the phone which aside from the HTC One is still worlds better than anything Samsung has put out ever (the band-aid/golf ball back S5 is an abomination).

I miss Apple's ad mojo circa 2006-2009. The Get a Mac campaign and the original MacBook Air ads were awesome. Seems like they have all been down hill since the Mac Genius fiasco.

Edit: The MacBook Pro with Retina display commercials were solid.

You are right, minorities don't matter and should be ignored.

I am no Marketing Genius; however, I think they should have saved this song for the iPhone 6...gigantic screen. Maybe at the end of the commercial have the words "now, with more to love...".

Those were funny but they don't have that advantage anymore. Apple has to fend off competitors by portraying their device as the everyman/everywoman device that does everything you want and more.

The Mac V PC ads were funny yea, but being able to do work on my phone and not get viruses isn't really funny anymore. They reiterated those ads to death lol

You must be psychic. Come back in 6 months and we'll follow up on that.
