you just got a new mbp 2 weeks ago?

hahahahahahaha

lol seriously though, why the hell did you do that?

Needed it, and the rumors weren't yet that firm. There had been some rumors that FireWire was a goner, and I wouldn't have liked that. I would not have been happy holding out until late March or April. And since I replaced a 3-year-old MacBook, I figure I got a big enough power boost anyway.

When she breaks your ankles just to keep you from leaving her cabin in the woods, at least until you rewrite your manuscript!

When he throws lotion down into the well yelling "It puts the lotion on the skin!"

Or..

When you write out in all caps on the forums... "It puts the SSD in the 13!"

This made me LOL AWESOME

I personally can't wait for that new "belt drive" - this beast should do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, baby!! ;)

I just can't wait!

On Portuguese store, 3-5 days for 15'' 2.4GHz, 2.66 GHZ and 17''. The rest of them still 1 day.

Does Apple usually launch their products worldwide, or other countrys have to wait?

New to this. This will be my first Mac and I never followed an Apple rumor... I just know I'm excited. :D

Please please please come!

Computers always worldwide, iPads bucked the trend due to the fact they couldn't make them fast enough.

Am I the only one that feels that Thursday just doesn't sound right, and that March 1st makes more sense?
Me! But -on the other hand- I think that March, 1st is a long way off!
Apple's already sent those black-highly-confidential-007-palettes to most of the stores around the world, I hope the release is coming soon. Perhaps tomorrow? Which is Tuesday? :D

Do we REALLY need bigger track pads?

I for one do not want or need a larger track pad. I turn most of the options for my track pad off, as I find most of them un-needed and annoying. Adding MacBook Air features to drop the weight and up the speed would be nice.

Mexico's Apple store also shows 3-5 days. Hope they get the new Pros soon after the refresh! :D

I was so happy to see that they have a 3-5 business day shipping period because it'll mean that we will get a refresh too. :D

I really hope that they refresh them aesthetically, they really need it because this design was introduced in late 2008, we are talking about almos 2 years and a half! Apple needs to refresh the MacBook Pros for me to want to get one!

Oh. my. God. People are so stupid! Obviously by delayed Macrumors mean shipping of the CURRENT Macbook, that is what the article says. It does not say ANYTHING about the release being delayed. Just read it instead of just the headline  and it also doesn't mention anything about the case design so I don't know why anyone is complaining about it not being changed here. Go make a new thread and complain about it there (even though you don't know either way; Mac Minis recently had a case redesign without an event).

I am WISHING for 24th, but something tells me it's gonna be the 1st of March.

Although February 24th doesn't sound right, it is almost certain that the new line of Macbook Pros will be launched on that date. Stock levels worldwide are running low; to compensate, the new model are being shipped to retailers. I also personally think that a whole week would be too long of a wait.

Now, here is my list of things I hope/think the new models will include:
  • Sandy Bridge Intel Processors
  • Better battery life
  • Lighter weight
  • No optical drive
  • SSD*
  • Hopefully: Lower price points
*I don't think that the whole notebook would run on a SSD. The cost would be to high, and the storage space too low for many. Thus, I think the best option would be a hybrid, with the OS on a MacBook Air SSD and the choice for your main drive.

As for a redesign, I don't know what to think. Liquid metal sounds nice, but I don't think it will be integrated this time.
