My wife and I will be buying our first MBPs with this refresh, and I would be absolutely the happiest man alive if any of these black Macbooks were reality. I have been broken hearted ever since the black plastic MBs went away. Plus it would be badass to have Yin/Yang new MBPs. All I want for Steve's birthday is good health for him and a black MBP for me. :)

I wouldn't mind a black aluminum mbp or the new material (LM). I just don't like the 2-tone on a laptop.

Agreed. Looks too pc-ish.

Danish store has 3-5 day shipping as well now on all MBP's

hope this works

Seriously? For one - that's hideous and a very out-dated design concept. That's obviously (as someone else said) a pre-unibody Macbook Pro mockup. I mean, can you not see that the trackpad still has the button? How familiar are some of the people who use this site with Apple products? Sometimes I have to wonder...

Or at least all the juicy details describing the 17" mbp and it's multitudinous options.

Not happening. Apple has decided that glass is reserved for its premium displays (Macbook Pros, iMacs, Apple Displays) and they are not reverting back. Plus, the glass is beautiful. I actually like when the light hits it and reflects off the black bezel. To each their own.

I really hope they keep (or add more) matte options - my 4/6 colleagues with MBP15 are jealous of my matte MBP.

In truth I doubt they will add the 13" matte - the great unwashed have spoken...

How many people are going to wait up tonight past midnight (Cupertino time) in hopes of hearing the tiniest sliver of Refresh news from Apple or some guy named BillyBob who wants to earn $10k by providing "leaked" information?

Again... at what point does dedication become an obsession? :p

I would if I could. Have work at 5AM CST.

Some interesting MacBook Pro possibilities coming out of BGR this afternoon. Here are the Cliff’s notes:

1. The trackpads will be bigger than before. Looking down at my MacBook Pro, I’m not sure that’s possible, but it couldn’t hurt – unless it accidentally triggers from my wrists. Apple, I’m sure thought of this.
2. OS on SSD. This is the big one. BGR says that Pros will ship with integrated SSDs which house the OS. I’ve been talking about this since 2008 so I’m clearly for this idea. However, that would take some reconfiguring of the OS which I’m not so sure will appear in 10.6.7
3. Finally, they will weigh less…an average of a half pound per model. We’re not sure how (liquid metal?) but we’re all for it.

I laugh every time I see someone holding their breath for a Mac with Blue Ray. Blue Ray is a transitional technology. It's only purpose is to provide us with HD video until steaming becomes more mainstream. Apple will not invest valuable R&D into a such a transitional technology, especially one as expensive and unpopular as Blue Ray.
You have to pity Sony after its day as the "Apple, Inc. of the '70's" with the Walkman, Trinitron tech (way ahead of the pack at its inception), etc.

Then the technically superior Betamax lost out to VHS. Their early OS alternatives went nowhere. Memory sticks. Minidiscs. ATRACS. Sony Life Style stores (hey, they had an "ecosystem" in mind, it just never took root). Late to market with the cell processor based PS3 (chips which I heard are no longer in development), etc., etc.

And now even their come-from-behind "win" with Blu-Ray turns out to be at best modestly profitable, and only seems likely to remain even that for not that long.

Nobody in the last 15 years does proprietary and popular like Apple.

When she breaks your ankles just to keep you from leaving her cabin in the woods, at least until you rewrite your manuscript!

When he throws lotion down into the well yelling "It puts the lotion on the skin!"

Or..

When you write out in all caps on the forums... "It puts the SSD in the 13!"
