Wow. The answer is to abandon the planet we’ve evolved to inhabit in a very narrow equilibrium of circumstances? That’s...fairy tale thinking if I’ve ever heard it.
I didn't say abandon. Some people move to a new planet with different opportunities. You're the one proposing we halt all advancement because we're afraid the economy can't actually grow any more.

In general (regardless of your opinion on this specific issue) if you can't win in the arena of ideas and are forced to instead disrupt others until they submit to your argument, do you really have a compelling point to begin with?
A list:
The weekend
Overtime pay
The end of child labor
Sick time
Paid leave
Vacation
Women’s right to vote
Black’s right to vote
Many many more things we take for granted

Not ONE of those was won in the court of public opinion but instead fought for via disruption. I hope to god you’re aware of this.

I'm laughing a bit at the irony. Both you presented points that are so fringe it strains credulity. You are the mirror images of each other.
My ideas have historical roots, before market theory became the dominant religion of the 20th and 21st century.

To compare that on the same field as moving to a different planet is a mirror image? Come on.

Leave France entirely. French people can’t buy their iPhones and Macs, entire population leaves entirely lol!
Disclaimer, last time I was in France was a while ago, 2011. Unless things have changed drastically, they wouldn't give a crap. Nobody seemed so attached to their personal tech, which I admired.

You’re not understanding my argument, evidenced by the last sentence.

I’m not afraid the economy can’t grow, I understand that it WILL grow until all of humans life support systems on the planet are ****inn dead with us very shortly following along. Nature, the very systems that allow for us to be here at all, are considered “externalities” to the market system.

That is to LITERALLY say, the things that keep us alive like clean air and water, don’t factor into the core logic of market theory, which is why given enough time it will consume is all.

So spite, got it.

Frankly I wouldn’t be upset by my car being covered in car paint as it washes off easily. That said, what purpose would “protesting against protesters” serve when the protesters this thread is about are protesting on behalf of you and me. Why would you want to be self defeating by protesting them?
No one said they couldn’t protest. But they didn’t have to valdalize the property by writing on the window, which is what I was getting at. And they did rule as long as they aren’t disrupting their business or blocking customers. These guys were marching inside the Apple Store.

Apple please, say it ain't so ... I thought you were a loving, caring, altruistic, inclusive, koombiya, save the environment, save the spotted owls, tolerant of sexual orientation, everyone needs to pay their taxes kind of company ... OMG what am I to do, I am so distraught, I can't sleep, I have the shakes, Apple you have given me suicidal feelings, you did this to me and you need to pay for my grief counseling because you are breaking my heart.

Where do these people come from? I’d love to try and shove one of the edge.. that doesn’t exist!

They are insane - its the 21st century and these people actually believe the Earth is flat!!

Over the past few years, the Anti-science 'movement' seems to be growing.

Your ideas sure have historical roots, but they are history. This is called mercantilism, which people believed in the medieval times until finally the ball got rolling again. Even if we went with that in 2000, we'd be stuck without many advancements.

I'm not a free-marketeer. You impose environmental restrictions on business, allow it to operate freely within those boundaries, and it advances anyway.

The logic of protesting inside a court (whilst not protesting the court itself) would be what exactly?

I have to laugh because you can’t even take a phone call in the middle of court, so the reason to compare the two is...what exactly? Besides just being reactionary of course.
Just an example for those who think free speech gives them a right to protest and disrupt what is going on anywhere
It shows that the right to free speech by disrupting a place from within may not be considered free speech

I find these protesters to be a bunch of moral high grounders. They don't know what's actually happening behind the scenes.

Would LOVE to be there and cross that picket line. I believe in free speech, but that jerk with his "stop" sign pole blocking the door plus the crap written on the door is TOO MUCH. If they don't like the tax laws, they should be picketing the Government.

I just don't get it. Where do you see an "except" in that law? Where do you see that defacing is ok as long as it can be rectified within some arbitrary degree of difficulty? That doesn't even make sense.
He's wrong, knows it, but hubris can keep even the best of us from admitting it, sometimes.

My ideas are absolutely not mercantilism, I have no idea what part of my posting leads you to believe that.

Okay, then maybe next time I go to Paris I should spraypaint everyone's cars for being rude Parisians. That's my freedom of speech, no?
First off, the French people are very polite. I visited Paris before and the people helped me with directions despite by butchery of their language. The even went so far as to speak to me in English since their English was a lot better than my French. I don't know where the stereotype of rude Frenchmen started, but it's entirely wrong. Americans are rude.
Secondly, free speech law is US Constitution. There might be an equivalent in France, but unless I know for sure. I wouldn't risk it.
Thirdly, if there are laws protecting your speech, you'll have to convince the Judge that you actions is in line with the free speech law. It seems the protesters found a loop hole in the law and are exploiting it to their advantage. What's good for the goose...

So, if I understand correctly you find painting on a window "vandalising", guess what, you can wash that off in no time.
What!?! Posts like this make me wonder about people....

What if a person puts paint all over your windows, would you say, "well, I am fine with it, I can just wash it off in now time"?

Except you can't even wash it off until they leave, and in the meantime the windows you spent so much money on are covered. It's ridiculous that the court protects this. I'd love for them to just protest peacefully.

During a stunt at an Apple store in Aix-en-Provence last November, for example, activists painted "pay your taxes" on the glass windows. Attac also gathered in front of the High Court of Paris last week with Stormtrooper costumes and Star Wars-themed signs that equated Apple to the evil Galactic Empire.
