God forbid protest actually cause disruption, literally the only method that actually forces change.

If you’re inconvenienced by protest, that’s the whole damn point. Nothing ever changed by merely chanting out of the way.

Okay, then maybe next time I go to Paris I should spraypaint everyone's cars for being rude Parisians. That's my freedom of speech, no?

sure, do that, and if a french judge deems that justified then you're free to go or even do it again.

Again I say: Europeans claiming support of “free speech” rights is laughable; they don’t know the meaning of the phrase.
Especially in France, where some cities have banned Muslim clothing, and people have been fined for "anti-Semitic comments." They're pretty backwards.

A steady-state economy based on fulfilling human and life systems need.

Market economic theory is based on the ludicrous notion that infinite growth can exist in a world of finite resources, mimicking the creed of a cancer cell.
Tech advancements have no foreseeable end, and there is more than one inhabitable planet within reach.

If they are disrupting business and are stopping other customers from potentially showing up to the store because they are there then they should be fine and serve jail time. It is ridiculous people act like this. Nothing but *******s that need to get a job. I am ok if they want to waste their life protesting but do it out of the way and do not disrupt the business or customers.

Ask yourself, regardless of the cause, would I be OK with a gang doing these things to my business or my house or my neighborhood? Would I consider it just a form of free speech?

Exactly you are totally correct. I would not be ok with it so it is not right for them to be doing this.

Won’t somebody please think of the capitalists!!!!

I guess somebody should have told the kids sitting in the diners protesting degregation that they were interfering in business

No thanks, I’d rather continue to live under my rock and pretend dumb idiots like that don’t exist in this era... stupidity isn’t the word for people like that! Utter madness... couldn’t make it up, perhaps they’ve been watching Thor too much? I’ll save my sanity and avoid reading about them.

This story is about it the EU and the EU has gone after Ireland which is the country allowing Apple to pay 0.005% tax on its none US global earnings it piped through none existing offices there.. so the EU governments, or authorities have gone after them and are demanding billions in back payment, because every European is paying for Apples and Ireland’s ‘special deal’. The EU isn’t like the US, we pay our taxes generally and if you don’t pay them how do you spect your roads to be repaired? Schools run? Library’s run? Emergency services to operate? And so on and on and on.. big corporations that dodge tax are not very defensible and that includes any none US ones.
The deal they had did breach EU law, hence the EU taking Ireland to court over it, and they won too and are still wining despite Apples pathetic arguing over the matter. Why should Europeans in 27 countries pay state aid to Ireland, whilst Ireland lets Apple Pay practically nothing and almost launder its money through them? Hardly ‘doing everything for the customer’ as Cook claims..
These big corps dodging taxes in the EU is a sore subject, more so the US giants doing it..

Wrong and not ignorant, you obviously don’t fully understand what Apple and Ireland did, I guess your American? I don’t see why I or any other European should pay for Apples tax dodging.

Exactly, couldn't have said it any better.

Absolute crap... you can say whatever you want unless it is in fact ‚hate speech‘. I guess you are just another poor clueless AfD supporter.

+

Must be those thousands of AfD members and supporters the police is arresting 24/7 that led you to that conclusion, right?

Want from me to google more for you guys? Or you can google it up yourself?

And I'm not a German, so I can't vote for anyone there. But then again, it's not like there will be Germans for long.

Don't forget your tinfoil hat.

Never take it off, but thanks for the advice.

P.S.
If you want more links, I could provide how even video games are being censored in Germany.

So free speech in EU? In Germany? LOL?

Paint the cars of the protestors, and their house too while you’re at it. Use “removable paint” and say “it isn’t vandalism because it’s removable” - cover the windshield too so they can’t just drive home.
And the point of this, pure belligerent spite aside, would be what exactly?

If this is free speech, I’d like to see how long they could continue it inside a court room before getting forcefully tossed out or arrested?
The logic of protesting inside a court (whilst not protesting the court itself) would be what exactly?

I have to laugh because you can’t even take a phone call in the middle of court, so the reason to compare the two is...what exactly? Besides just being reactionary of course.

In general (regardless of your opinion on this specific issue) if you can't win in the arena of ideas and are forced to instead disrupt others until they submit to your argument, do you really have a compelling point to begin with?

I'm sure you can find cases so egregious that physical action was needed but this isn't one. There's ongoing legal action of which Apple has already lost the first round. Use your free SPEECH to speak, present your ideas and beliefs. The alternative ranges from bullying to extortion.

Protesting the protestors of course. Freedom of speech right?
So spite, got it.

Frankly I wouldn’t be upset by my car being covered in car paint as it washes off easily. That said, what purpose would “protesting against protesters” serve when the protesters this thread is about are protesting on behalf of you and me. Why would you want to be self defeating by protesting them?
