Could it be no one wants to use your ****** AI garbage?
Not true. Featuring an app does not infer it's a highly rated app, just that (probably) the developer paid Apple to feature it. It's a billboard for the app. A restaurant can feature a new dish, but since it's a new dish, it has no history or ratings. Two completely different things."App Store Has No Bias" is impossible to reconcile with "we feature certain Apps"
It's impossible not to have bias when such a feature exists.

So there’s bias towards those who pay them?
That's marketing!
Musk can surely pay up?
No, cheaper to create a drama.
So getting rid of governmental waste is “damage” now?I think Musk doesn't realise that people are sick of his BS, and the damage DOGE have done.
We can all guess a lot of things that probably happens. The fact is, there is an abundance of stories from app developers that didn’t know their app got featured until they saw a sudden spike in users. On the other hand, I have never heard a story, even a rumoured one, that someone paid to be featured (outside of the clearly marked ads of course). Being featured is an editorial process. Doesn’t mean the app is good, just that they feel it is interesting for the users. Not true. I think it is more likely the problem is that he CAN’T just pay to get what he wants, like he is used to. That’s why he is whining. That's marketing!

Such a flawed question has no answer. So getting rid of governmental waste is “damage” now?
The manner in which he did it was pretty damaging, which is why a lot of the firings are being undone. So getting rid of governmental waste is “damage” now?
I didn’t know such disgusting statism was so popular around here. Must be all those caviar leftists preaching from Californistan’s altar.
As of the past several years, with the exception of VST plugins and DAW software (Ableton Live), my software purchased for my Mac are done almost exclusively, by choice, from the Mac App Store. I trust the store, just like I trust the store for my iPad and iPhone apps. That Apple gets 30% of my purchase price matters to me, not at all. What matters is, the developer gets a robust place to position their software, and I get to know Apple is not allowing software on its store that is likely to bring down or otherwise inappropriately hijack my Mac. Thanks Apple. Nice work!Hopefully Elon will keep driving this until we get alternative app stores on iOS. Imagine owning a computer where you could only purchase software from one website... it's completely ridiculous, but too many buy into the security garbage that Apple uses as its firewall.

I'm not from California, heck I'm not even left wing. Swing and a miss there.
That's usually how advertising works... you pay for it.So there’s bias towards those who pay them?
I think what most developers would say, especially small ones, is that what gets featured and why is a pretty subjective black box.
I can't stand Musk, but that doesn't mean he may not have some point here, from some angle at least.
LOL! Paying to have your app "featured" is called doing business. Anyone can pay to do so. There is no bias no more than a grocery store putting a certain product on an endcap is showing bias towards that product when in fact, the product company paid extra for the exposure. So there’s bias towards those who pay them?

I have an iPhone and Apple Watch myself (which I both love). But I do think APIs for watches, headphones, payment, music etc should be fully open for third parties.Apple hasn't done anything nefarious with their products. Apple should be able to make exclusive APIs to work with their smartwatch just as much as they should be able to select "curated experts" that decide what apps to feature on the App Store. It's their platform, their App Store, their rules.
But it seems like you want it one way that benefits you (you seem to be able to want to use any watch, not just Apple Watch) so you side with EU, but the other way doesn't benefit you so you side with Apple in that case.
So getting rid of governmental waste is “damage” now?

Nothing brings people together like a common enemy.Odd to see so many people who were defending EU and attacking Apple over unfair App Store practices suddenly come to defend Apple's practices when Elon is attacking Apple. It's just so blatantly obvious objectivity went out the window a long time ago LOL.
All fair, but I do think what gets featured by Apple is subjective.
That involves various biases.
Again - I HATE MUSK
But I don't let that fully color my view on what he's saying here, even if I think he's more so just trolling.
Millions of people hate Musk so no people are not using Grok as much as he thinks.
People, me included, think apple is right this time because the very article we're commenting presents the evidence. Not being objective is what I'm having an issue with. You can't think Apple is in the right or wrong because you hate Elon for some reason.
It's probably not even that. If you go outside the tech and news bubble most of us here reside within, they may not have even heard of Grok. I don't know anyone who speaks of anything other than ChatGPT and CoPilot. And mostly with disinterest. Musk isn't even a factor in their existence. Some people have no idea who the hell he is or that he's even related to Tesla or X or xAI. They literally have no interest in him whatsoever at all. Even people in the US I know don't even know what the hell DOGE is but CoPilot has been in their face when they crawl into the office in the morning.
Boring but it's just not as popular because his marketing bubble is crap.
