Hopefully a beta and the SDK will be released to developers soon. I'm anxious to see what open API's exist for AirPlay. Is it going to be a Apple apps only type feature or are other applications going to be able to use it to stream content to the AppleTV or other devices.

I'm guessing there will be a new iPad coming out at this time too. Just in time for the holidays. :D

I don't think there will, as the original iPad hasn't gone through the holidays yet. In fact sales just slowed down enough for them to catch up to the demand.

Although Steve did say HDR photos on iPad so they probably have the next one in development.

Anyone know if Airplay only works w/ Apple apps (iTunes, Photos, QT) or if it works w/ any app? I suspect only the latter but it would be a joyous event if you could stream Hulu+ from your iPad to a TV.

I really hope they will bring out facetime for macbook/pro when they get the iPad version out of the door. That would make it really useful. Right now its alright, but that would make a pretty good infrastructure.

Apple will definitely be gearing up for an iPad 2.0 release sometime soon... if not this year, then almost certainly January 2011.

I think Apple has pretty much set it's iPad refresh time frame as late winter/early spring. Don't expect new hardware until March/April '11. Maybe an announcement in Jan, but not a release. Personally I don't expect an announcement until late Feb.

Does this also allow me to stream audio/video/photo's from my iMac to my iPad? I'm not interested in streaming stuff from my ipad to my tv.. It doesn't make sense.. Now, streaming stuff from the net or your local (personal) storage to endpoint devices like (apple)tv, i-pod-pad-phone makes sense..

I hope multiple user accounts make it into a release...

Multi user support for a mobile device? No sense to me, it is supposed to be a personal device or a device specifically used at home for all the family. These scenarios both don't need multiple users. IOS must be light.

looking forward to...

Updates to Mail and Safari. Don't give a fig about printing, that's just so 2000s. Glad I bought mine before iPad becomes uncumbered by camera(s), if they do...

In addition to allowing multiple pages to remain open with more than 3 pages, couple of smaller features ought to be addressed.

• iTunes cover flow - again, the iPhone has it and so should the iPad, particularly with a much larger screen to appreciate the graphics

•*shuffle button in iTunes - should be predominant. Open a playlist or touch on an album and it should be there - the shuffle button. It's there for some music parts, but not the above mentioned

• information for each photo. Ghost the details at the bottom or top, same way the next or previous buttons illuminate. Date, time, location (I know there is the locations feature in photos, but the pad needs to connect to the net & load), would be a bit more interesting with some info added.

• <------- a small detail it may be, but this little dot in Notes on the iPhone is a handy icon when making lists, etc.

Have you sent these requests to Apple? Best place to send them...

Normally, I'd agree, but I've noticed a pattern with Apple iOS releases usually followed by a revised hardware release which makes me think iPad 2.0 will be available sooner rather than later.

Especially after all the complaints Apple will get about 4.0.2 making their iPads really slow ;)

I swore I saw this page on Wednesday before iTunes 10 was available for download. I saw AppleInsider published this story about the page coming out yesterday but since I'm not a member there I didn't speak up. Any one else remember seeing it on Wednesday?

I hope the wireless printing works well. It was a nightmare to set up on my mac (with a canon pixma wireless printer) so I'm not that confident about it on the ipad.

mainly looking forward to folders to reduce the number and clutter on screens, so I can finally have most media items grouped together etc. That and printing (if it works) will do me. Don't really care about multitasking.

Airplay *to* the ipad would be way more useful for most people I'd think. we have plex 9 now and air video, but a solution that supports apple DRM content for digital copy and purchases would be great. The ipad is a limited storage device, so surely you'd have all your content on a computer in the house already - the large screen is perfect for streaming to.

Sorry to hear of your printing issues. I've got a HP PSC10 series here, i plugged it in, it worked - it's shared from my iMac, the laptop sees it and itprints without drivers or software required on the laptop - the driver auto installed on my imac when i added the printer to the list.

I'm hoping that this feature will launch with some good GIMP or generic drivers and plenty of support from canon, epson HP et al to get everyone up and running.

Or more likely iOS 4 for ipad will allow you to merge bracketed exposures imported via the camera connection kit.

That's Good news, but Apple is slacking on there iWork for iPad Apps. Looks like we won't see any new updates until next year for that.

Why do they need updating - what's wrong with them? I'm much more interested in the next iteration of the iLife suite...

I'd quite like to be able to create folders in my 'Photos' application.

With things like the iWork suite allowing me to save images from the web to use, it would be nice to not have those lumped in with all my other photos.

Seems like such a simple feature to allow, too.

+1 - I really wanna see faceTime on all mac devices with an iSight built in. I'm thinking this might be a 10.7 feature for the Mac line.

I can't wait for this! I think the software on my iPad right now really limits it, but this is going to really open things up. I am looking most forward to multitasking since closing each app to move onto another one is such a pain on the iPad. I will be able to use it more like a computer and less like an iPod.

This is a personal issue. People can express whatever they want within the rules of the forum. If you really are that sick and tired, create your own internet and invite only people who think like you.

On another note, I hope the multitasking works well.

Yes, and he was expressing what he wanted within the rules of the forum. No need to highlight his post. We're here discussing Apple and their products - the constant complaining from certain quarters whatever apple release, update or address is annoying and degrades the quality of debate and it's frustrating to constantly hear FUD from the usual posters.

Have you sent the feature request to Apple?

:)
