I'm in the US, bought my MBP on the 16th, and also can't get anything to show up in the cart.

I spoke to a support rep in Live Chat and they said that it's a known issue that is being worked on, and to try back next week. Not very informative, and why do they still have it up if it's broken for many people?

I was told by an Apple store employee that rather then having to spend $9.95 shipping I will be able to just pick up the disk in store for free, and if I want I can drop off my MBP do some shopping in the mall and they will install it for me. I love Apple

A possible solution for everyone experiencing the 'empty basket' problem. After countless failed attempts to order the Snow Leopard Up-To-Date offer i finally succeeded with the following sequence:

1. Open Safari Preferences
2. Under 'Accept Cookies' make sure you select 'Always'
3. Exit preferences and QUIT Safari (It's important you fully quit Safari)
4. Re-open Safari and go to the UP-To-Date pages and qualify your order, your basket should update properly this time
5. Spend your $10/£7.95 on what is the bargain of the year!
6. Change your Safari Preferences back to your original settings

Worked for me straight away doing this after many failed attempts.

What if i bought my macbook pro at a best buy in montana?

will i still be eligible for the $9.99 price or will i have to pay $29?

Has anyone heard anything about what kind of installer would the disk have? I believe the up-to-date 9.99 version will be upgrade install, but I'm very interested in whether the 29.99 version would be full install (capable of erase install).

I have not found this information anywhere.

IMO, it would suck if I wasn't able to do a clean install to a fresh hard drive.

Hey guys, I'm sorry if these questions has been asked before but, I'm wondering if... (I want to get the SL for $29.99 cause i have the Mid-'07 Macbook)
and I want to know, when we pay for the 29.99 is it like, I'm paying for the actual disk, or will they just install it for me.. and then that's it?

also is it only for one computer, when I pay for it?

thanks!

As long as your mid-2007 Macbook is running Leopard, then you can buy Snow Leopard for $29.99. You receive a disk and no, they won't do it for you I believe. :)

Yes, all software is for one computer unless it says Multi-License, Family Pack, etc. :)

This did not work for me. I bought an MBP (customized) from the app store only two weeks ago. The cart shows empty after I click the up-to-date link and login with my apple id.

the following worked: on the empty cart, I clicked "continue shopping" and added something else to cart (just picked something from the store), then went back to the cart to check out, and there it was, the upgrade, plus the item I added. I removed what I didn't want and checked out the upgrade fine.

thanks for the reply, Yes my Mid 2007 Macbook IS running leopard, With this disk... if i ever need to install it again, could i use it again? or what?

i'm sort of new to this whole mac os x thing...
new to the mac system.
but i know how to use a mac. lol
i recently fixed my inverter. (woosh hard work!)

My only wish is that I will be able to upgrade for $30 even if I live in Romania. There's a stupid habit here that we get excluded from things which do not imply paying a lot of money for...

I just filled this out on the website, bought a new Macbook Pro after the date in question. Once I was finished I pressed continue and it took me to a page that basically said "your shopping cart is empty". Then what?

if that happens try adding something to your cart then view your cart, that's how I got it to finally show in my cart, and I tried adding it so much that I had 5 copies in my cart. You can remove whatever you don't want of coarse.

I just figured this out (for Safari at least) After i would sign in with my apple Id I would get a empty cart. Basically all you need to do is sign in, get to the empty cart page, then go to the 'Develop' drop down in the menu bar (If it doesn's show up you have to go to safari preferences ->advanced check box for show develop in menu bar) and change your user agent to 'Mobile Safari 3.0 (iPhone)' page reloaded and voila there was the up to date snow leopard package. I figured this out by trying it first on my iPhone. Weird...

I got one of the June 2009 MBPs the other day from the refurb store, and when trying to do the up to date offer, I got a message saying my serial number was not found. Have other folks had this problem, or is it possible the MBP I got is not one of the eligible computers?

Just registered to say thank you! This trick works for me! I was so frustrated when I could only see the empty cart after trying everything, on two computers!

It looks like the cost is just to cover physical production/shipping, as evidenced by the fact that they'll allow you to buy a single disc for $9.95 and install it on multiple covered systems. However, they're not 100% clear on it, so my question is this:

Will I legally be allowed to install the $29 upgrade disc I preordered for the iMac I bought in November, on the 2 MBPs and iMac I bought last week? That is, is the upgrade truly free (as it appears to be) and they only want money for actually getting it to my door?

I have no problem paying for the disc (and applying for the "right to copy" license) if necessary, but would rather spare the hassle if I can.
