Reese looks kinda like my aunt except my aunt's chin isn't long at all.

Jennifer A is someone I fell for since the short-lived Ferris Bueller TV show on NBC. She portrayed the sister. Never cared for her in Friends.

I didn't see Jen as a brunette until Horrible Bosses 1 & 2 where she was so hot in them as some hilarious nympho. I prefer if she keeps her hair dark to make those blue contact lenses sparkle.

1990 Jen A is my fav. Then Horrible Bosses brunette.

Too much personal info.
A bit creepy.

If you're making computer purchasing decisions based on a TV show, you should consider your priorities, in my opinion.

I don't think he is basing his views on a TV show. In case you haven't noticed Apple has been on a downhill spiral for the last five years. There innovation is gone. And don't say the iphone X is innovative. It's not. There Mac lineup is a diaster, old hardware and outdated designs. But they are thinner.

One of many.

Microsoft is what Apple should be right now in the computer space. They are the underdog and they are just killing it. The Surface Desktop is a innovative design concept, the whole surface line is innovative. Meanwhile we get a touch bar and computers that have not been updated in years. Not months, years. A 4 year old design iphone is still being sold, and a charging port on the bottom of a magic mouse. This is just a few examples, there are more.

What is happening now is the exact same thing, to a tee that happened the first time Steve left. And you have the exact same type of person in charge of Apple.

So yeah, focusing on a TV show when your company has no business in the entertainment business is a problem when your business model is crumbling around you.

The problem as before was consumers buying their products regardless based on past releases and not realizing what was happening right before their eyes.

Congratulations Apple. You've come up with an idea I'd like to watch less than a Clive Davis documentary.

Apple trying to find decent TV programming reminds me of Mr. Magoo trying to do anything. For the kids here, a walk back to the 20th century:

I get this. Producing a near the best tech computer does not get Cook any special awards, on talk shows, or relevant interviews. So why try. Producing a TV hit that wins awards in Hollywood gets Cook all of the above. Doesn't matter how much Apple spends to make Cook famous and does not matter how many customers leave for lack of innovation in computer products, Cook wants fame. So he'll do whatever it takes. Look at Apple the last few years, this is the only strategy that seems to match Apple's actions.

Finally my time to head to Microsoft again thank god the Surface Book 2 is decent.

What does the TV Content team's ability to make successful / entertain TV shows have anything to do with computer hardware?

There must be lots of Mac or iPad fans who have no desire in owning an Apple Watch, or subscribing to Apple Music.

As always MR passes judgment before seeing the actual product. How many times now has MR members been wrong about Apple? Do you guys get tired of being wrong?

iPhone C is a disaster. (outsells Android flagship models)
iPhone 7 with no audio jack..No one will buy it. (becomes one of Apple's best selling iphone)
Apple watch. Ugly, gimmick, no one will buy it (Outsells the competiton)

How does one even watch the show? Is it only for Apple Music subscribers? Or do I have to pay for each episode from iTunes? I get that Apple wants in on content distribution, but I'm not paying them a monthly fee for a music service I don't care about just to watch 1 show.

Unless they start becoming the next Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, I'll wait for it to be uploaded on bit torrent.
Because the alternative to paying for something you want is to steal it?

Only positive views. To some, negative views are considered "whining."
Reasoned disagreement, constructive criticism and intelligent discussion are typically welcomed in MR forums, I’ve found. Haters who are here just to get negative attention by crapping on anything Apple in a knee jerk fashion are less... appreciated.

I just don’t get it. Apple has a ton of money in the bank. If they want to do original content why don’t they buy a company that’s already doing it and doing it well? Their first attempts have been terrible. I get why they are going there. Some of Amazons original content finally got me to purchase a Prime Subscription. If Apple starts producing good original content that’s accessible to Apple Music users I’d sign up and start using that service (but would still purchase my favorite tracks so there’s no DRM on the stuff I love) so I get why they want to do original content but why keep producing flop after flop when you have plenty of cash in the bank to buy a company already doing it and doing it well. Just buy Netflix and be done with it!!!

I hate it when Apple or other companies use exclusive deals (or proprietary ports, services, etc.) to keep or gain customers rather than doing it by creating compelling products.

It's not just the show. The show is just the "symptom"; the manifestation of a problem. It's the "new culture" at Apple, and IMHO it's getting worse as the days go by. This isn't the Apple I knew and "cared about". /end rant

Times change, and Apple has changed in keeping with the times. They are under no obligation to stay the same just to cater to a niche group of users.

I don’t see it as a problem that a company no longer meets your needs. That’s just the way she goes.

It’s a good thing that Apple isn’t a computer company, is it?

And your statement is a little ironic considering Apple just reported record earnings in their latest quarter. Heck, even the much-vilified MacBook saw sales growth. I think it says a lot about how the mass consumer sees Apple vs the tech-savvy crowd.

I can help but wonder if it’s this small bunch of old-timers who are the ones that need to get with the program, and not Apple. Apple is on a roll and will not be stopped just because a few people want an updated Mac mini.

A little bit of context may be in order.

I just can’t anyone who claims that Apple should acquire Netflix seriously. It’s easier to use the money to bid on the shows you want to see produced, rather than buy over a production company and have to deal with all the problems of managing one.

Not all the shows on Netflix are even in line with Apple’s image. Acquiring it makes absolutely zero sense.

Jennifer Aniston was perfect on Friends and still looks great, but she’s made a long string of really terrible movies. Anything with her in it, I avoid like the plague, along with Kate Hudson (Almost Famous excepted). So I don’t have a lot of confidence in her taste of projects. Reese Witherspoon has an only slightly better track record.

But hey, as long as it’s “family friendly”, that’s all that matters, right?

Funny, I gravitate like moth to flame for anything Jen is in. They aren’t that bad lol.

So, there are episodes about Botox, then?

How dare You! ;)

It's been like that since Apple started selling disposable laptops in 2013 with their soldered RAM. They don't respect consumers (you).

And then there‘s Maude. Keeping everyone honest and telling them how to feel because it’s lonely being that miserable.

I don't care about morning shows or shows about morning shows.

Apple, please fix the long-standing iTunes bugs so I can put a playlist on my device and take it anywhere with me.

Yes, turning it's back on the Mac business is a change. A very unwanted change, by the long time Mac user base - the one's being ignored, not the "oh look it's sooooo small and cute" crowd.

As a 9-year old kid back in Fall of 1990, I remember I would skip The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air at 8pm because I wanted to drool over Ferris Bueller's hot sister right afterwards. And here is the weird thing. I didn't find out that was Jennifer Aniston until 20 years later! I was like WHAAT? That was Jennifer Aniston all along? I was kinda turned off by it because I hate Friends until I saw her in Horrible Bosses.

Eventually I got into Fresh Prince. I have the entire TV series downloaded and Martin. What's cool is when the show began, I used to live with my Mom in Studio Colony (Studio City) and my classmate and I met Alfonso Ribeiro and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey). They finished playing racquetball. Joseph lived there.

I chatted a few times with Joseph. Never got to meet Will Smith though. Just Carlton and Geoffrey. I used to go to Rio Vista Elementary school. I also had a schoolmate who was a grade younger than me who I used to walk home with. He bragged he was going to be in Child's Play 3.

My classmates laughed at him. Guess what? He did appear on it. Look him up. Jeremy Sylvers. I knew him. He appeared in Saved By The Bell and was bad in that too.

Circa 1990, good times!

WWF Superstar (best Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania ever happened in 1990. Best era for WWF circa 1989-1992.

I watched WCW/NWA early in the mornings too to watch Sting.

Used to see NWA tagging and think it was for wrestling. Didn't realize it until I got into gangsta rap.

The Disney Afternoons starting Ducktales or Gummi Bears...

Go home and rewatch Back To The Future Part 1 & 2 over and over on VHS.

Saturday morning cartoons like Captain N & the Game Master.

Super Mario cartoon was dumb as hell.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

ABC's TGIF. I can still recite theme songs from Growing Pains, Perfect Strangers, etc.

Reading Rainbow intro song. Jimmy Fallon nailed it as Jim Morrison singing it.

Laughing at the "Top That" scene from Teen Witch.

That flash scene in the PG-rated Just One Of The Guys. Wow!

Wrestled or played baseball after school.

Ice cream truck! Chased after it sometimes.

Beating Super Mario Bros 1-3 over and over once I got home. NES was the only console I ever had at the time.

Got into the NBA by 1990.

"Rhythm Is A Dancer" by Snap! and "Back To Life" by Soul II Soul are still two of my fav jams from that era. And Technotronic...

Loved 1990 in North Hollywood, CA. Loved being a kid and knowing how to have fun without a Wi-Fi connection.

Apple has acknowledged they need to address certain deficiencies in the Mac lineup, and have committed to fixing that. Desktops are only 20% of sales, but their importance to the overall ecosystem was undervalued.

Even further off-topic:

iMac Pro next month, Mac mini and Mac Pro likely late next year. I hope we get a higher end/server type version of the mini, and not just the (mostly) consumer version released in 2014. The current mini uses 28W U-series CPUs, and there are no quad cores available at this time.

Cannon lake should offer that 2H2018, and some lower clocked coffee lake H-series might be possible. Hopefully the new mini thermals could accommodate 45W processors, albeit with a fan. Then you could see some decent upgrades to the CPU, including a 6-core mini-beast. If Apple slips it to 2019 you could see 32 GB, which Intel will support with the Ice Lake CPUs :):D

So the mini doesn't get update for 6 years? Yep, that's REAL commitment
