I’ve been making iPhoto books for 7 years. I just ordered my first book through mimeo and was stunned with how they jacked up the price. The very same sized book I used to get from iPhoto for $130. now costs $190. From mimeo. A disgusting money grab so now I have to find a new place to get my photo books printed. What a disappointment. Plus... their app is missing several important aspects that the iPhoto app had.

What size book and how many pages were you looking to get? There are some other options out there that work similar to the iPhoto app with better deals.

8.5 x 11 100 pages. I’ve looked around a bit. Vista has that size, but some bad reviews.

I never heard of this service before and don’t have plan to use one before it expires. However, I do agree that physical album carries a very unique or sometimes nostalgia feeling when reading them. I bought a few illustration books. The feeling of reading it is quite different from reading it electronically. Such feeling of touching a physical media is something iPad or whatever tablet, no matter how advanced they are, can never deliver.

I didn't realize Mimeo was that high in price. They're the same quality as iPhoto originally was so I'd expect the same pricing.

I've used Motif quite a bit and it's good quality and the same pricing as Apple's photo books. It would be around $110 for the 8.5 x 11. There's a 25% off sale going on right now too for Mother's Day. I think the code is MothersDay25.
