Still, it sucks.. Space Gray is not an iMac Pro exclusive color. MacBook, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, iPhone and Apple Watch all come in Space Gray.
So if you bought a Space Gray MBA, MBP and/or iPad Pro, it’s not rare to expect yout to want Space Gray accessories too.
My next iMac will have to be Blue, hahahah!😂I think the mistake was that Apple marketed the space gray mouse as something uniquely paired with the (gray) iMac Pro. And since the (gray) iMac Pro was a niche-selling (and limited lifespan) device, the overall sales of the separately-purchased space gray mouse probably resulted in horribly-low sales numbers.
Unacceptably low sales numbers is a prime reason for any company to discontinue production of any device.
I agree it sucks. Grey/grey is one of my favorite colors, obviously since my personal iPhone is space gray. But I also understand Apple's decisions based on sales numbers and business policy.
The color isn't exclusive, correct. But, that's why I qualified it to just the iMac Pro in the iMac product line. Why? Who knows.Still, it sucks.. Space Gray is not an iMac Pro exclusive color. MacBook, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, iPhone and Apple Watch all come in Space Gray.

I'm not sure how I am an apologist because it doesn't bother me and the aggressive griping about it is comical.Holy apologists!
It’s an idiotic design choice. Yes, let’s put the port on the bottom so the mouse can’t be used, and also sits on your desk like something is underneath it.
Some of us don’t use our home computer for weeks. Some of us don’t always keep our computer on 24/7.
I think this take is probably right. Apple branded accessories are expensive and Apple mostly sells laptops. If memory serves, the space gray options came at a mild premium as well. How many people are spending the money on Apple peripherals in the age of Amazon and of those purchasers, how many feel it's worth paying a premium for a color approaching black?I think the mistake was that Apple marketed the space gray mouse as something uniquely paired with the (gray) iMac Pro. Basically, I think people can't see why they discontinued at least the trackpad. Understandable if they are redesigning the Keyboard or mouse. But some think that maybe all three are discontinued completely (all three axed at the same time - still available while supply lasts) because no more iMac Pro or Mac mini in space grey (mini in space grey's days are probably numbered). This thread having so many comments, cant read them all atm, so whats the rumors - new Magic trackpad 3 and Magic mouse 3 incoming or not?
Looking into buying MT2 for iPP, not sure should I wait or not, before the space gray color is completely sold out.

Some believe "maybe" space grey has had its day and will be gone (I don't think so). But if what you say is true (time will tell) , then if someone does not like the new round or color match-type look (space grey might get another shade of grey) or is concerned about compatibility with older models, it might be time to run out and get them before they are gone. The new trackpad with the iMac has rounder corners alongside the new keyboards, and the mice have new color matching rails underneath. So all three old designs being discontinued makes sense.
I think the Intel Space Grey Mac mini will stick around until the rumored M2 Mac mini Pro comes out likely in November or next March... And that might be when you see a redesigned space grey keyboard with Touch ID, Mouse & Trackpad come out.Basically, I think people can't see why they discontinued at least the trackpad. My hunch is this means a black iMac Pro, not a space grey one.
Are you 100% certain the next iMac Pro won't be orange?
