Apple has published a support document (PDF) specifically for the "MacBook/MacBook Pro (Late 2008)" models. Besides the name, the document is not especially revealing. It appears to be a service document when replacing the display on the new MacBooks.

So the next AirPort card will be placed in the display assembly? 😕

No more standard-sized miniPCI-E AirPort cards? 🙄

in the article it said apple is releasing macbook/pro at a media event on october 14th

does that mean they will acutally be releasing and presenting, or just presenting on that day?

No MacBook Air (Late 2008)?

Anyway, I get the feeling that either Apple is sloppy or Apple is purposely doing this to cover up something bigger.

We don't know. It is usually a few days or a week before the event that the product actually starts arriving at stores and such, but a support document suggests that they'll be available quite soon after the event.

Sold my macbook pro today.... if I don't like what they show us on tuesday I'll buy the same machine I had with discount !

I guess it's time to sell now, prices will plunge very soon !!

Airport in the lid

Does this mean the airport card is going behind the display?

possibly reinforcing the rumor of a 2 tone plastic lided macbook, better wireless reception with a plastic lid?

Let the flood of information begin.

...or continue? At any rate. Hopefully the best is saved for last (i.e. the actual keynote).

they probably mean plugging the arial into the lid. often the arials are in the lid, and adaptor is in the body
