OMG OMG OMG OMG APPLE SAID THE SPOTLIGHT TURNS TO NOTEBOOKS THAT MUST MEAN THEY'RE INTEGRATING A FLASHLIGHT INTO THE NEW MACBOOK AND IT'LL COME WITH A TOUCHSCREEN AND STEVE JOBS WILL SHOWCASE IT BY PLAYING THE SCREEN LIKE A TURNTABLE BECAUSE HE'S UNVEILING A NEW PLAN FOR APPLE TO MOVE DIRECTLY INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND YOU WILL NOW BE ABLE TO BUY OPTIONAL EXTRAS FOR GARAGE BAND LIKE A GUITAR WITH ACCELEROMETERS AND AIR DRUMS WITH LASER SHARKS THAT WILL CARVE NEW INSTRUMENTS FROM OLD G5 CASES OMG OMG OMG

There are new MacBooks. They are metal. They will have multiple colours (similar to the 4G Nano) because that's the direction Sony and Dell are taking and it's working for them.

Could someone please be kind enough to make the file available through some file sharing server or something?
Please? Please?
I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate it...
Thanks!

You're not missing out on much. It's a rather dull service manual that doesn't leak much information.

The iMac was updated recently, as in the past few months. The Mac mini will continue to go neglected, at least until the next major Intel processor is released. And it makes sense. Apple wants you to buy the more expensive iMac. I also think that a MacBook Air update will come at MacWorld.

then why do artists like wacom cintiq

some artists like using it. i've never used wacom in the production of my work. whenever i do anything within the digital matrix, it's hand-drawn first, then scanned and (usually) vectorized.

i think you're getting confused with graphic designers and fine artists.

and no, that isn't a statement on the validity of graphic design as art, but there is a clear and distinct difference between the two groups.

i don't actually know a lot of artists who aren't graphic designers that use a wacom tablet, so it's probably more accurate to say that designers would love a mac tablet.

at any rate, it isn't even going to happen, so.... keep on dreaming! i think that considering how long the technology has been around, if apple was interested in making such a device they would have done so a long time ago.

Neat, a little more confirmation can never hurt.

Oh really? Ask the Apple Store who sells less laptops this week because of speculation... ASK THE SHAREHOLDERS. Hmm...just another small way to contribute to a nearly stagnant economy. But you're right, a little more confirmation can never hurt.

I agree, but most of the people I know that use them are Industrial Designers. But I do know quite a few illustrators that us them.

Actually, possibly more than the Industrial Designers.

They love the ability to draw, scan, work the color in PS, and be able to deliver 10 ideas from each drawing. Also a color change doesn't mean redrawing it.

But because they are all classically trained (the ones I know) they couldn't do the same thing without the tablet.

No I am not getting graphic designers confused with fine artists because I go to an Art School. Everybody gets a BFA the animators, graphic designers, game designers etc. Sure the more technical term is designer but at the end of the day everybody is an artist. The person who creates cartoons or drawings through illustrator they still need some sort of art skills.

I'm pretty sure everyone said the same thing about the iPhone. The Smart Phone has been around for ever why 2007? Because Apple sits and waits until the time is right to release something that cannot be truly categorized but it something distinctly Apple.

Now as much as I would like a pro tablet. I do not believe there is a chance of that happening until Steve Jobs steps down. The only thing we will ever see that comes close is the $800 jumbo ipod touch that may come out on tuesday or the modbook.

yeah...well MMS and Copy/Paste have been around for a while on cell phones and the iPhone still doesn't have it so I think it's possible.

Best way to get one?

Would anyone expect that it would be hard to get the MBP on the day it comes out? (i.e. will there be lines?) Also, presumably if they are going to sell them in the stores tomorrow, should we expect to see reports that large shipments are showing up at Apple Stores around the country? Or, would I be better off just ordering online?

does it mean, macbooks will not have keyboards`?? and will be touch screen???

im a bit confused, can someone pls comfirm
Uh... Of course the MacBook will have a keyboard. All that has been leaked (so far) is just the lower chassis. Obviously, the keyboard is a separate component not connected to the chassis.

according to this

http://www.bit-tech.net/bits/2007/10/22/displayport_a_look_inside/1

"Add to that an ever increasing number of radios (Bluetooth, WiFi, HSDPA and WiMAX to name a few) inside notebooks which run the risk of interference if there are too many antennas in one place. To fix this, aerials are being moved behind the notebook’s LCD panel, meaning an increasing number of wires competing for cable access through the LCD panel’s hinge. That makes it harder to widen the cable for LVDS. "

We can only speculate that the new machines will probably have a possible Display port - at least on the pro machines.

Ahhhh... that makes sense!

The inserts folder now takes you take info.apple.com-a good move by Apple.

I could not find any references to "confidential" in that PDF-in that file it says:
"© 2008 Apple Inc. All rights reserved.

written consent of Apple.

the U.S. and other countries."

A service manual would be confidential, though (same applirs to Sony,HP,Lenovo, etc's service manual).

Sony probably, but Lenovo/IBM, HP, Dell and a number of others have their service manuals (full disassembly instructions) available for public download. I can point you to some examples if you want.
