Wow that’ll mean a few more cables to get power and the bus to the airport card if this is real…iBook screen issues again, the one were the cabling was cut through by the hinges, unless there’s a new touchy device which is all one piece…or there’s a sub notebook that’s so small some of the components are up in the screen bezel…oooohhh, no sleep ‘til Tuesday!

Its kinda hard to say that the tablet is a DEAD market when apple computers has a main sector of the design industry, if the the whole thing. But yet again, that sector might just opt for a wacom... sigh...
Don't get me wrong, I definitely am waiting a Mac Tablet (thats not a modbook :))

You may have a point there...the "one more thing" is DEFINITELY NOT gonna be a notebook.

1) It's not a tablet either, since tablets are a DEAD market;
2) It might be a greatly upgraded Mini, but I don't believe it; or
3) It might a new HDTV from Apple with all-inclusive media center capabilities...

If tablets are a dead market then why do companies still make them? Apple has a strong student and artist base which would certainly kill for a tablet. I would:D

So, if the Airport card is installed essentially behind the display, and that area is fairly large, why couldn't you also put say three GPU modules there as well as optional upgrades according to computational need?

Rocketman

you will need the route the pci-e x16 bus to them vs just a x1 bus or a pci bus to the wifi card.

1) It's not a tablet either, since tablets are a DEAD market;

There are zillions of "dead markets". Imagine if no one designed anything new because it was a "dead market": forget the light bulb, computer, car, dish washer, probably houses, metal, and footwear.

Didn't HP tell Wozniak the "home computer" was a "dead market" when he brought the Apple I to their offices for sale and development? You might be a good to go for a job application at HP 1975.

Tuesday's announcement

Tuesday's announcement will obviously involve new Macbooks and Macbook Pros, but what about an amalgamation of the mini, the networked tv we've been hearing rumors about, the patent for inserting a Macbook into a display, and the mystery port on the leaked Macbook casing photos? Someone in this thread already commented that a mini was really just a notebook in a desktop casing, and Apple has neglected to update this model for quite sometime. What if Apple is finally going to make computing via television something that is commonplace in the household? Bring your Macbook home from work, slip it into your TV and viola... with the help of wireless keyboard and mouse you're computing from your television. When the notebook is gone, you still have the complete function of your television and the abilities of Apple TV, but when your Macbook is connected you have full access to the computing power of your notebook.

This is the era of digital convergence and Apple has proven to be a leader in it (iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, Apple TV, etc).

Just a thought.

Tablets are not a dead market. Many people like to use them in meetings when they have to take notes or draw out something for people to see on the over head. They are very popular in that type of environment.

I wouldn't be surprised if iLife was updated. iMovie has big room for improvement. The current version dropped tons of needed features that were in the previous version.

Also a new iLife suite could drive some holiday sales.

Are you kidding? I would thank god if not another tons of features are dropped.

Does this rumor even need to be really confirmed....? The event has already been announced and it is called "The spotlight turns to notebooks" and Apple releases new notebooks (or at least new updated models) every year. Isn't it already kind of obvious that Apple is releasing new MB & MBPs since they are their only notebooks? It would be much of a "spotlight" on them if they didn't do anything with them. Do people really think that it might not ever happen? That you need a rumor or a confirmation of a rumor? This would of been a bigger rumor if it was found before the announcement. In any case, it happens every year. It is surprising that people talk like it might not happen. It is all just a matter of time.

Plus on top of all that , and forgetting it being obvious already, "confirms" is a pretty strong word, and I wouldn't really say that unless it is an official announcement. Apple has made typos before in the past. If I was Steve Jobs, and I didn't like things being leaked, I'd sometimes put out wrong information by "mistake" or just leak things on rumor sites for fun. Ha ha, lol. I'd have so much fun with that! It would make a good hobby for me.

maybe spotlight is significant

Just thought that the title reads "spotlight on notebooks"

maybe the word spotlight is a hint of some sort.. :)
