I am disgusted by this Ballroom, Tim Cook presenting Trump with that trinket and contributing to this abomination questions my loyalty to their products.
I was already on the fence. The latest software releases, their support quality, them ignoring everything I submitted in feedback for this year's beta testing, all marks against them. The shiny statue they gave trump seemed like they were just working him, distracting him in the cheapest, least-consequential way possible, but the ballroom I can't excuse.

Everyone who kisses up to trump is going to get run over by him just like anyone else. He has a reputation for screwing over everyone who has ever done business with him. At best, kissing up is a stall. But doing so makes him more powerful against others in the meantime. This is incredibly irresponsible and I'm just not paying for it anymore.

I like macOS. I like my M1 pro macbook pro. But I don't actually need apple hardware or software and I think it's time I start migrating away. I can get by just fine on a linux or BSD-based solution.

Have you seen 10 Downing Street. Haha what a joke. And Parliament another joke.

Probably not seen much of the Palace of Westminster then have you?

Tim Apple also donated a million bucks to the inauguration, and Apple went along with the "Gulf of America" nonsense.

That’s what the left doesn’t understand. You think shareholders and businesses are going to just eat the cost of higher taxes? They’ll pass it down to the products they sell. Sure, let’s raise Exxon Mobile’s tax from 20% to 100%. Your $3.25/gallon gas will also go up to $5.85/gallon. Have fun with that. My 20 gallon tank goes from $65 to $117 to fill up. Basically a $52 extra tax I’d have to pay just to fill up my tank.
Personal tax has nothing to do with this. So by your argument no one owning a business should pay tax because prices will go up. What the right doesn’t realize is they are brainwashed and gullible. Might want to do some basic economics research there mate.

the east wing wasnt torn down. just the facaude, which is fancy name for car port, was torn down.

i dont remember all of you being upset when oboma built a friggin basketball court. your selective outrage is tiring.
Dude. They knocked the whole thing down. It was meant to be the facade and he demolished it all. Even NewsMax reported that!

That’s actually not why the money for this project is rolling in. CEOs are busy trying to win favorable treatment by this administration. It may be the most obvious case of pay to play that I’ve seen in 50 years as a journalist. Meanwhile, the project very likely exceeds what is allowed without congressional approval.

yall keep spelling biden wrong! This is the first thing democrats think becuase it's excatly what the democrats would do. Its called projection and weve seen it every day for the last 4 years.

Maybe this explains why we got an orange iPhone this year :D

On a serious note, what did the East Wing house in terms of rooms and whatnot? I feel like we don't know a lot about it.

East Wing

Structure part of the White House Complex, east of the Executive Residence
The East Wing of the White House complex was built in 1902, significantly expanded in 1942, and demolished in 2025 ahead of a rebuild containing the White House State Ballroom. Situated on the east side of the Executive Residence, the building served as office space for the first lady and her staff, including the White House social secretary, correspondence staff, and the White House Graphics and Calligraphy Office, all of which are relocated until the new East Wing is completed. The East Wing was connected to the White House through the East Colonnade, a corridor that housed the White House Family Theater and connected to the ground floor of the Executive Residence. well good. no one complaind any other time a president did renovations. there is a command center under there that was built during world war II. This is probably a cover to revamp it.

The Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC, PEE-ock)
