Paid for by the working class. Why do you have a right to healthcare if you’re fully capable of working and purposefully choose to not work? And to get better coverage than the working class? That’s disgraceful.
Disgraceful is that USA is sending billions and billions overseas to fight proxy wars while their own citizens don't have access to public healthcare.

Maybe this explains why we got an orange iPhone this year :D

On a serious note, what did the East Wing house in terms of rooms and whatnot? I feel like we don't know a lot about it.
From the

DC Preservation League

The demolition of the East Wing of the White House represents a collective loss—a serious affront to United States history and architectural heritage. While some may argue that modernization justifies this project, the country cannot overlook the profound cultural significance of the East Wing and its role within the White House complex. Its loss results in the irreplaceable erasure of a rich chapter in our national narrative.
Dating to the early 20th century, the East Wing has facilitated the initiatives of countless First Ladies, promoted public engagement, and welcomed millions of visitors, embodying the principle that government belongs to the people. Tearing down this vital space limits future opportunities for civic involvement and increases the risk of a lost connection between the presidency and the public.
Historically, the East Wing adapted to social changes and reflected the country’s evolving values. Each renovation symbolized progress; however, the decision to demolish at this time signals a troubling trend that prioritizes modern construction over preservation – and one without appropriate review at that! Citizens of the United States must critically assess what this communicates about its current society’s values.
Cultural landmarks like the White House are essential for community identity. The loss of the East Wing signifies a broader disengagement from our country’s roots, threatening the coherence and unity that historical sites provide. The White House has connected generations, and demolition without meaningful public input and review ruptures that continuity.
This horrific demolition of the East Wing demands immediate attention. The DC Preservation League questions what is gained by sacrificing the country’s collective history for vanity. Preserving the East Wing was not about nostalgia; rather, it signified a vital commitment to honoring Americans’ shared heritage.
And so today, DCPL calls on Americans everywhere, all across the country—because we, the citizens of DC, are taxed without representation—to reach out to your elected officials. Advocate for historic preservation, call for changes in policy, and demand oversight of the architectural integrity of the White House to ensure that this significant legacy endures for future generations.

Many presidents have left their mark on the white house, (even the British burned it down years ago) but very few funded it themselves. I too am surprised the US didn’t have a space like this. Well soon they will have.
A tasteful addition or renovation is one thing, belligerent destruction of history is quite another.

This “man” has a HUGE chip on his flabby orange shoulder and is making the point HE HAS WON and can do WHATEVER HE LIKES.

If he hadn’t got back in he would be in prison for the litany of crimes he has committed.

If anyone wants to smile and wave for absolute scum like this it says a great deal about them, their values and lack of moral compass.

Trump is the worst thing to happen since Hitler.

Oh totally. At the same time the pub over the road from me in London is over twice as old. The building next to my apartment predates America being discovered by 150 years. Historic is somewhat difficult to define IMHO.

Thus the problem is symbolic rather than historic. It symbolises the intentional destruction of America.
You right, nonetheless, the White House and others monuments I mentioned are still, "historic" to all mankind. Period.

I'm wondering how future generations will deal with this monstrosity. I have a feeling this building will need a remodel when/if the current ruling family leaves the house.

Are you arguing against the fact that UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, China, Singapor etc arent among the best countries in the world? Western democracies are falling apart all over and barely functional as a society.

Lets look at a basic list, you tell me which countries in the middle east are doing better:

Monarchies:
  • Saudi Arabia – Absolute monarchy
  • Jordan – Constitutional monarchy
  • Morocco – Constitutional monarchy
  • Kuwait – Constitutional monarchy (Emir)
  • Bahrain – Constitutional monarchy (King)
  • Qatar – Absolute monarchy (Emir)
  • United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Federation of hereditary monarchies
  • Oman – Absolute monarchy (Sultan)
Democracies/Republics:
  • Egypt – Republic
  • Iraq – Federal parliamentary republic
  • Syria – Republic
  • Lebanon – Parliamentary republic
  • Israel – Parliamentary democracy
  • Turkey – Presidential republic
  • Iran – Islamic republic (theocratic elements)
  • Yemen – Republic
Which countries would you rather visit. Look at China vs the USA even they have a functional government, we havent had one since before nixon even.
Awful take.

Minus Morocco, those monarchy countries are all protectorates of the United States and were protectorates of the UK.

Of the Democracies, 5 have been bombed by US protectorates or the US within the last 10 years or are US protectorates (Egypt and Israel).

The unifying factor is having Uncle Sam supply your military either through cash, arms, or in some cases directly being the military.

What about the $230 million he wants to pay for himself.
Or the $176 million for the two jets for ICE Barbie to travel around for more photo shoots?

That’s a lot of taxpayer dimes.

Could’ve used all that money to pay ATC who are literally keeping thousands of people safe every day but now are DoorDashing to make ends meet. Do you really want them more exhausted than they already are?

ATC salaries come from the trust fund. There’s plenty of money in there, but congress needs to pass a bill to release the funds. Maybe they should get off their butts.

I am honesty surprised that the White House doesn’t already have a space like this.
They have the East Room which is quite nice and perfect for such occasions. But Donald saw Putins palaces with all the gold and all the spaces for the people to admire him so he thought he needs that too.

He needs to stay away from Turkmenistan. Berdimuhamedow makes Putin look like an amateur on that front.

Reality is if you don’t like it don’t give Apple your money. Unfortunately it isn’t as easy as cancelling Spotify or Disney. I’ve given up on annual iPhone upgrade because of Tim Cook but it is going to be a lot harder to give up my @mac.com email.

Well now they'll have it and won't have to set up tents. Life goes on.
Safety nets only work if the people receiving them contribute to society like they do in Scandinavian countries. Our system doesn't require that, and that is the problem conservatives have with government programs. They’ve become hand outs instead of hand ups.

Not my fight, but if there’s no taxpayer money being spent, then who cares?

America is functionally broke because of the left side — not because of Trump:

- How much money you gonna dump into welfare instead of telling people to go back to work? It’s no wonder employers are short staffed and the general working public are stressed out. The spending for this is over $1 trillion per year. It’s ridiculous.

- How’s the Social Security System doing? Bankrupting the country. All drafted up by the left. Those using the benefit are broke, and the Social Security taxes for everyone not collecting are extremely high. Together, employers and employees pay 12.4% of their income to an inefficient system that doesn’t benefit anyone.

- How’s the student loan system doing? We’re only at 1.81 trillion in debt just from this inefficient system, and counting.

- How’s the Affordable Care Act going? Only gonna add another $350 billion to the deficit over the next 10 years. If people were working and not on welfare, they’d have reasonable health insurance costs through their employer.

It blows my mind that people actually think the U.S Government can actually do something efficiently.
As an outsider from Europe who has been to the US and has American friends I can compare things better I guess. America is broke because of the companies getting richer and the people getting poorer. People don't go back to work because they don't get paid fairly. What is the minimum wage in the food industry? Why don't business owners pay their people? Why do you have to tip 40% instead of the owner paying his workers? Why don't Americans have free healthcare? Why do you need student loans insisted of having free colleges? The US is just a third world country. Oh and the US don't have a left side, they have a far far right, a far right and a right wing.

It's pretty easy. If you have icloud+, buy a domain. Then add that to icloud. Then slowly move everything over to that email on your domain. Then get someone else to host it later.

I've done this for several people so far.

You should NEVER rely on anything after the @ on an email address that you don't control yourself.

If everything is free, then you eliminate competition. If there is no competition, there is no invention. If there is no invention, there is no progress.

DC preservation is run by leftists. If Biden were doing this, they’d be licking his boots.
