If the ballroom is an improvement over the current East Wing, I don't see the point in replacing it again out of spite. The Rose Garden, OTOH, tear that 💩 out and bring back Jackie's roses. Gawd, I'm still salty they paved over the beautiful greenery.🤬🤬🤬

Have you seen the renders? Not only is it heinously tacky and ugly, it offers way less usable space.

this is 100% wrong, my friend from Japan just had her visa extend three months ago
been here since 1999 and works, the illegals are getting the boot!
many other deserved visas were extended this year which the media won't publish, sadly.....

also as a cyclist who never drove or uses gasoline, this "renewable energy" is a scam in the USA
too much money is wasted on horrible unclean solutions that harms animal, waterlife and landscapes.
jeez everyone who owns a home in NJ got a 300% utility bill increase over this scam in August.

Anyways, the ballroom is a much needed revitalization that probably we, my friend, will never see!

“I know one (white) person whose visa was extended so that means the thousands of legal residents we know have been illegally deported aren’t real.”

Yes, I saw the render. It reminds me Russian plutocrat taste or lack of. Still, if--*IF*--it's an improvement over what was there, no need to tear the whole thing down. A new paint job, move the furniture around and voila, good taste prevails. Maybe.

The East Wing and Rose Garden is usually the domain of the First Lady. I hope the next one has better taste than our current FLOTUS, Eva Braun Melinda.

The United States visa system continues to evolve dramatically in 2025, reflecting the nation’s commitment to welcoming global talent, reuniting families, and maintaining economic competitiveness. As the world’s leading destination for immigration, the US processed unprecedented numbers of visa applications across multiple categories throughout fiscal year 2025. The current administration’s immigration policies have significantly influenced visa issuance patterns, with notable increases in employment-based categories and continued emphasis on family reunification programs.

The visa statistics for 2025 reveal remarkable trends that underscore America’s position as the premier destination for skilled workers, students, and families seeking new opportunities. With advanced technological integration in visa processing systems and streamlined application procedures, the US Department of State and USCIS have achieved record-breaking efficiency levels. These improvements have resulted in reduced processing times and higher approval rates across various visa categories, making the American dream more accessible to millions of qualified applicants worldwide.

We’ll make it the Benedict Arnold Memorial prison annex.

That’s what the left doesn’t understand. You think shareholders and businesses are going to just eat the cost of higher taxes? They’ll pass it down to the products they sell. Sure, let’s raise Exxon Mobile’s tax from 20% to 100%. Your $3.25/gallon gas will also go up to $5.85/gallon. Have fun with that. My 20 gallon tank goes from $65 to $117 to fill up. Basically a $52 extra tax I’d have to pay just to fill up my tank.
The right controls all 3 branches. The government is shutdown, inflation is getting worse and so is the deficit, and employment #s won’t be looking great soon.

Do you have a source for that? Sounds an awful lot like either ChatGPT/Grok or directly from the regime, none of which are reliable.

For one thing, how does (attempting to) charge $100k for an H1-B visa square with the “nation’s commitment to welcoming global talent, reuniting families, and maintaining economic competitiveness?” Or arresting and deporting legal residents for their speech? Or sharply limiting international student admissions? Or slashing funding for medical research?

One of the reasons I rejected the Democratic Party long ago is that they think hating white people is a good thing and that they're personally noble and superior people for engaging in that particular kind of racism.

You seem a little… triggered. Are you proud that there is a gilded 90,000 square foot party space being built as “part of” the 50,000 foot White House, while America remains functionally broke?
I'm surprised he didn't have his own "infrastructure" bill during his first term.
Who needs paved roads when we can have another fundraising room for rich people?

Two separate projects. However, with that said: Trump has now crossed the streams: He has gone from all but recommitting the same problems George II was accused of in the Declaration of Independence, to now playing Louis XVI while his people are working without pay, starving, losing jobs, farms, and homes, and losing healthcare. All the more reason for the next POTUS candidate to channel the Declaration of Independence when campaigning.

As for the East Wing? Like with the ballroom, I'd actually ask for volunteers from the people to tear both of them down. I'm with you on bringing back Jackie's roses; I would also then restore the entire East Wing to how it was prior to demolition.

Speaking of: hopefully someone is cataloging the art, paintings, documents, etc. of everything that was in the East Wing.. I mean, Presidential Records Act, and all...

But I digress. I do not know what Apple is thinking here outside of self-preservation. They are not currying any favors to their customers by sponsoring/funding any of this, as it makes them sound so duplicitous. Someone should mention this at their next earnings call/conference with Tim.

BL.

Bill Clinton didn't get the majority to vote for him.

Now you say it for your guy.
At what point in this conversation have I ever said Trump got a majority of the vote? As I’ve stated, that’s not how it works. He has however received a majority of the electoral votes. Which is how it works.

I find it amusing this has to be explained to people on any level. Abject failure of the education system.

By a slim majority that is insufficient to get a budget passed on their own. My guess is the left wants to see the right end the filibuster so they can have Carte Blanche the next time they have a slim majority and blame it on the right. Round and round and round we go. Where the stupid will end, nobody knows.

So if they had a larger majority they’d balance the budget?
