and terminator dark fate got 70/82 on rotten tomatoes, despite being the worst terminator movie by far.
Why? Should the people who make the movie not get paid?
You are correct. The Equalizer was good. The sequel was hogwash.

I can’t remember the last good Will Smith movie I saw. Independence Day is like one of the worst movies ever.
Definitely not the worst one IMO. Genesis sucked way worse, as did Salvation. I thought Dark Fate was OK, which roughly agrees with the critics.
They just seemed to completely forget what made the first one great.
Nope. Sorry. MIB3 and Bright were both terrible. I admit i didn’t see concussion. And while Aladdin was not terrible, he was terrible in it.

That’s right. He’s not good enough to replace robin williams in what was an iconic roll for him.
i just remember my friend and me laughing hysterically in the movie theater, to everyone's disapprovement.
Fuqua has done some decent work, and of course, the absolutely brilliant Training Day (that we just recently rewatched). Smith can be terrific, Ali, The Pursuit Of Happyness, showed he's got some acting chops, he can be charming and funny (MIB, Bad Boys), and mix that up with decent action - or even do a great job with some silly, but super fun scifi like ID4. I'm cautiously, very optimistic

I've enjoyed all Will Smith's movies, for different reasons (Aladdin being an exception, but that wasn't his fault).
He can do drama, comedy, action, all of it.
I agree, lately his star is fading, but such is (Once Upon a Time in) Hollywood.
I though the last Bad Boys was decent though, and I did enjoy Gemini Man (my son did not, but he makes movies so he's a bit of a film snob)
To me, movies are like food. I'll never know if I like it until I taste it, and I never know if my taste buds will go with the crowd.

His movies are generally trash, but he brings the eyeballs. I chalk this one up as an "investment".
