I agree that almost nobody could measure up. So why would anyone try? Why take the role?
I enjoyed the remake with Will Smith more than the animated version, likewise with the remake of The Lion King. Unlike the remakes of The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, which were very poor.

7 Pounds. Focus, OG Men In Black, Book of Eli, Ali.

but hey ... still getting roles and blockbusters doing well seems to disagree others you. still your opinion is valued for you and some others.

he didn’t re-imagined it. He started in it and I’m glad he did NOT try to be Robin Williams - a fellow comedian for him. Smith has much too much respect but the story has had a very long time to age. It’s a Disney movie and ALL But one that I recall has been remade or “Re-mastered”. The pen with the Blue Bird singing on my shoulder — that’s neverbeen retouched/re-made/etc.

Focus is so underrated. I made my wife watch it on an airplane a few months ago, she loved it.

World war 3 is here and people are still busy taking selfies and making plans for when "things go back to normal" its a war between people and thier governments. Except the people don't know they're at war 🤣

What a shame. For that kind of money they could have gotten a good actor.
Hmm.

You must have missed Six Degrees of Separation, Ali, The Legend of Bagger Vance, I am Legend, Pursuit of Happyness, Concussion, and Seven Pounds, to say the least.

Or you just don't like Will Smith, for whatever reason, which is fair enough.

Just curious: who would you suggest for the role?

More than the animated version? That’s blasphemy. Jafar was, what, 19 Or something? He couldn’t scare his way out of a paper bag. And the genie was cringeworthy.

didn't they learn from netflix?

mean while they only invest a couple million on games. games are expensive if they want to compete in that market.

So much money. This money could have been given to a charity instead. I’m not liking movie/TV Apple.
It’s not Apple’s money. The money belongs to shareholders who bought and hold shares of Apple stock.

Apple is required by law to use the money to benefit the stock holders. If Apple doesn’t do this well, the shareholders fire the people hired to run Apple or sell their shares and invest the money somewhere else.

Why not buy a few shares (or pretend you did) and learn how it works? It will improve your understanding of the ways of the world.

The plot and topic has been done many times before! Not sure why Apple wants to rehash it again?

$120M for Apple is like going to the supermarket and buying a 6 pack of Snickers. At this point, they might as well just put $50M on a roulette table and see how it goes.

Nice! I haven't watched any pictures starring Will Smith for a long time. This will be much anticipation from me.
Last time I watched his movie was Independence Day.

The Equalizer starred Denzel Washington... WOOOOWWWW.
Sorry if it wasn't clear I meant the connection to the director who also directed the Equalizer movie.

Why they didn't do the same as the book makes no sense. Not only does it make the title of the movie make more sense, but it actually would have made it a memorable movie.
They did make the original ending, like shot and in the can, the whole deal. There is a version of the movie with the proper ending in it out there, I've seen it. The decision was made to go with the alternate ending as the studio figured the normie movie public wouldn't like the original ending and I don't think they are wrong with this one.
