Apple is sort of stuck honestly. They are mid-transition. I think we all know where it's going, but getting there...not so fun. Generally I don't get into the Apple Charges Too Much set of complaints, but I think this time, it's getting traction with this machine.

That's nice from Apple. I got all my adapters and cable with my MacBook already.
USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter
USB-C to Lightning Cable
Belkin USB-C to Ethernet adapter

I wonder if those of us who ordered a couple cables when we ordered our new computers on the first day will get a refund. I will follow up with Apple and let the forum know.

BTW I have made my living in film and television for over 20 years, seen a lot of changes in formats, cables, and connectors, and am really looking forward to my new MBP. Hopefully Avid will get support for Media Composer in Sierra before my computer arrives.
Please let us know, thanks! I already got mine earlier at the higher prices... would rather avoid having to go to an Apple store to get a refund. Hopefully Apple will just credit our cards back the difference.

And shipping has slipped to 1-3 months on some critical dongles...

It just works! In the Spring! Merry Christmas!

The product you screenshot is by Belkin. Probably not the best example to demonstrate your comment.

This is a smart move by Apple, but it makes me wonder if orders/interest from creative professionals (ad agencies, photographers, video post-production houses, etc) might be dramatically worse than expected, since Apple specifically cited "professionals" in its response.

Sorry, but if your not using wireless by now, i have no sympathy for you. DO you also wash your dishes by hand instead of using a device called a dishwasher?? LOL :p

Ah yes, someone completely clueless. How do you expect to restore from a local backup, or developers to deploy apps? Magic? A wired connection is REQUIRED for those operations.

Does anyone else feel like it's complete bull crap that that Apple embraces USB-C on macs, but still forces lightning port on the phones when the standard for all new phones is in fact, USB-C.

I think the problem here is that they actually changed to the lightning port to early and now that everything else is using USB-C they don't want another backlash from iPhone customers (who are a much larger base of people) by switching the connector again.

The multiport VGA adapter and the multiport HDMI adapter are still listed as $69 each on Apple.com and the Apple Store app.
The USB-C to USB-A adapter is listed, however, at $9 on the Apple Store app but $19.00 on Apple.com.

Someone needs to reboot a server methinks.

As many have said, it's a start but they really should have included a USB-C to USB-A adapter for free in the box. Ideally they should have included a 4 port USB 3.0 with A connector dock with USB-C connector for free. It would likely cost them about $20 max and more than amply covered by the price increase of this generation of MBP.

There has been an awful lot of whining on these forums lately (some justified), but you can't deny that this is a nice move by Apple. It's very unusual for them to adjust prices outside of product introductions, so clearly they're responding to feedback. Good show!
