If they truly recognized the needs of their pros, they could have done one of the following three:
- include some USB-A ports in the new MBPs
- include the most vital dongles or a multiport dongle in the box
- not put a 1000% margin on the bloody things in the first place

Since they did neither of the above, they proved that they can only react to a ********* instead of anticipating and avoiding it in the first place. It's that same thinking that got us the nMP in 2013 and no updates since. Can't innovate your ass!

People will bitch about going to USB-C, but this is proof that USB-C is better for us. Apple can't compete with the billion USB-C solutions available on amazon and elsewhere for dirt cheap.

I think the problem here is that they actually changed to the lightning port to early and now that everything else is using USB-C they don't want another backlash from iPhone customers (who are a much larger base of people) by switching the connector again.
Sort-of. I think in reality for the iPhone they want a proprietary port that they can lock users into on an ecosystem. Since the phones are largely disconnected from computers in use it's one way to "enforce" some things like Apple accessories and Apple license fees from the MFi program.

Wow, saving Apple customers literally dozens of dollars. This is huge!

Still more expensive than buying third party attachments. And the white color doesn't go as well with either the laptop or the attachments. I'd suggest people still buy a third party dongle/adapter.

Apple has the cure for that. Disabling 3rd party adapters with a software update.

While I agree that this laptop is less Pro and should be called MacBookDongle, this is what happens in the transition zone. Apple is going from ports to everything USB C. That was their call, and this is what the next few years looks like.

And this is how I discover that saving $16 isn't worth to me the hassle of calling up Apple to ask them how to refund the difference on the dongles that just arrived in the mail...

Please let us know, thanks! I already got mine earlier at the higher prices... would rather avoid having to go to an Apple store to get a refund. Hopefully Apple will just credit our cards back the difference.

Same deal here. Bought a bunch of dongles right after the new computers became available. A refund is not without precedent. Did they not lower the price of the first iPhone and gave everyone 100 dollars back or something.. My memory fails me.

Another this that grinds my gears, this talk about "the most bought Macbook Pro ever".. Well, no **** Sherlock, all the people who usually bought Airs don't really have a choice now do they..
I would have bought a new Air if it looked the same but with new internals, was hoping for a better screen, otherwise fine. Now I opted for the 13' pro instead..

Bad move Apple. This clearly shows how much aware of the situation you are.

Instead of reducing the prices you should 've made such a move on the MBP launch day.Instead, you were greedy enough to test us first. But i'm telling you one thing. The reason that you are still selling products is because we are being patient hoping that at some point you'll satisfy us again. We did if for one year, two years, 3-4..... I don't know how long we will still be waiting.I've seen this before. Sequential bad moves that led to dissatisfying all the customers ended in a big crash. And everyone were wondering how this happened, when yesterday we were still selling. You weren't. It was the customer forgiveness that kept you alive for the past 2-3 years.I don't know how long will this continue.

The multiport VGA adapter and the multiport HDMI adapter are still listed as $69 each on Apple.com and the Apple Store app.
The USB-C to USB-A adapter is listed, however, at $9 on the Apple Store app but $19.00 on Apple.com.

Someone needs to reboot a server methinks.

Yes, my price changes whenever I update the cart. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower. I guess things aren't finishing propagating yet.

apple can seriously go ___ itself over removing every different kind of input in favor of one nobody uses yet. want to use 3.5mm headphones. buy and adapter. want to use your new lightning earphones. buy an adapter. want to plug your new iPhone 7 in? buy an adapter. want to keep using your external and/or portable hard drives? buy an adapter. that monitor you use at your work station? buy an adapter.

Can always return for refund, and reorder. Tell Apple you'll save them some money on shipping, by not having to re-ship the cables if you just keep the ones you have.

Sometimes bending logic works.
