Let me guess, this was probably a brilliant decision made by Angela Ahrendts. (Being she is in charge of the Apple retail stores.)
Actually makes sense. By removing the word "store", she had just promoted herself to being in charge of "Apple"

You can't trademark common words.
So you like the name? Really? I knew a fanboy would come along and make a lame excuse for Apple. There is more than 1 store in NY.
You can look like idiots together.
Yeah, obviously the people who look after the running of the stores are the same people who decide what computers are designed and released.
It doesn't have the word store on the building. You don't go to the K-Mart store, the Wallmart store or the Target store.
If there is 1, it'll probably be Apple Vienna or the name of the town/district it's in.
Incorrect. Apple Stores when used as a plural is fine, just not when describing a single store.
NY would like to thank you for defending its store count. You forgot to mention too that none of the stores are even named Big Apple so it can only stand to reason it was said to be funny. Oh well, can't win them all can we?There is more than 1 store in NY.

Dang, man. They're pretty expensive in the US where I live, too. The R34 is my favorite Skyline EVER. You'll get yours one day. Like your signature says, the sky's the limit!I wish
Here in Australia, the R34's are going for around 60-120k, depending on condition and k's. One day i will buy one!
Not nearly as foolish as you'd sound saying "I'm going to Apple", or "I'm going to Microsoft", "I'm going to Ford", or "I'm going to Toyota", or "I'm going to Rolex", or "I'm going to Puma". That sort of naming scheme just doesn't work for cross-industry brands that are not retail first. If you say you are going to the Walmart or Best Buy at a particular shopping center, do you say "I'm going to the Walmart Store" or "I'm going to the Best Buy Store"? Of course you don't!
Those people who are making fun of Apple dropping the word "Store" from their shopping locations, should start using the word "Store" after every store name they go to. They will then realize how foolish they sound if they tell people they are going to the "7-11 Store" or to the "Target Store".![]()
But will they continue to register "store.apple.com"? Me thinkE "YES."
Preening shops, raising pharaonic offices and asking "what is a computer", all while sales falter and products stagnate. Is it an oversimplification to presume their leadership is rather off-key?

I actually like this change. It shows the retail locations are not focused on getting people to buy more things, but to experience them. One of my favorite things about visiting Apple is walking in and not being hounded by sales people trying to get their commission. I can just wander around and experience the products how I want to and make the decision I think is best for myself.
Honestly I'm not familiar with the import restrictions here, but what I do know is that I haven't seen ANY R34's over here in the US. I keep my eye out for cars constantly, and I think maybe I've only ever seen one R34, ever? And even that may have just been a dream. Someone told me that you don't see R34's in the US because of them being right-hand drive, however I'm not sure if that's the real reason or not.Haha, thanks dude! Fortunately here theres no limit with what you can import. I know from a few friends in the states (around Cali and NY) theres only so much you can import because of the age. Is it 25 years or something? Because i noticed a lot of people importing R32's now. If thats the case, not long for you either! The sky is definitely the limit! Hopefully i can find one for a decent price (60-80k AUD seems the norm now) and the good thing is, they all have low milage. Seem heaps for sale with like 28,000 k's (19,000 miles or so)!

I can't believe that you can find those cars with ~20k miles. Are you kidding?! Cars like the legendary Skyline are meant to be driven!! Works out well for folks like you and me, right? We'll put some miles on them.![]()
Only if they don't plan to open any further stores in Vienna in the foreseeable future...If there is 1, it'll probably be Apple Vienna or the name of the town/district it's in.
No way, I watch Saabkyle too!! He's the only guy that will take like twenty minutes to show you EVERYTHING about a car. Like, even where to turn on the hazard lights. He's awesome. I didn't know about the import restrictions, I appreciate you clearing that up for me.LOL exactly right! Theres an american youtuber named 'saabkyle4' and he did a review of an r34. It looks so mint! It was in the US as well, at some custom car location which had heaps of old school cars. Probably why you don't see them because they're not meant to be driven. As for the age, just asked a friend i know who lives in anaheim, he said the limit is 25 years, which means 1991 is the latest you can buy (hence why i said everyone in the US is beginning to import to r32's) however i have no idea how certain companies (or people for that matter) import them into the US and by pass that restriction haha. As for mileage, all the ones I've seen for sale here are so low. People in Japan don't drive them i guess. Theres an absolute MINT one in blue being sold in queensland (the state above sydney, NSW) and it has like 5,000 kilometres or something ridiculous like that lol being sold for like 120k AUD (100k USD). I think the reason why people don't pack milage on them is, they're one of those cars where you drive on the weekend. I wouldnt be driving it to work haha
or position them to be mobbed and looted - at what point do these stores just close down in crime ridden cities?
The decision to remove the "Store" portion of Apple's line of retail locations likely has to do with efforts to turn newer stores into more than just simple stores, positioning them as gathering places for their communities. Apple Union Square, for example, features an outdoor plaza with regular acoustic performances and a 6K video wall with seating called "The Forum," aimed at allowing artists, photographers, and musicians to inspire and educate customers through year-round programs, events, and classes.
