Apple Drops 'Store' From Apple Store Branding

Apple can last a while. They have display devices that are taken but so far as I know they have a proximity awareness that makes the devices unusable once they leave the store. They have resources to weather some time with this since the real inventory is in the back but there will be a point that all stores and all business in general gives up on certain areas. What then, will the people hitting the stores migrate to other cities or just sit home defeated because there is nothing left in town. Something needs to be done, I wish I had the real answer but I dont.
