Who cares about the iPhone 7? Already boring old news. 3 weeks after launch date. Swept under the rug.

Would be nice if Macarumors covered the largest Apple patent unveiling just a couple of weeks ago.

iPhone 8 could be made from ceramic. Bye bye ugly antenna lines.

maybe because it's impractical and likely not going to happen? and if it does, it will be a special edition.

apple watch sport $299 42mm
ceramic apple watch $1299 42mm

the sport and iPhone 7 have the same aluminum. $1299 and there's not that much ceramic being used compared to a phone.

it would be cool, but if it comes out, expect to spend thousands.

I'd love to see everyone's faces when Apple releases iPhone 7S next year.

Also, here is the UNREALISTIC features that are constantly being rumored;

1.) Edge to Edge OLED see through rounded corner display (with speakers and camera behind it).
2.) Ceramic, Saphire, Liquid Metal, and/or All-Glass design!
3.) Revolutionary wireless charging that keeps you at 100% battery over thin air (like MAGIC)!

Fellas, if Apple gives us 1 of the features above every year for the next 3 years, consider yourselves lucky. There is NOOOOOO WAY that all 3 of the features above will make the next iPhone, whatever it's called.

I hope its not going to be like the Apple TV gen 4 that when you grab the siri remote you never know which end is up!
If they put the lock button back on the top of the phone, then that would help.
I hate it on the side.

I have no doubts it'll be all true with the edge-to-edge display and no home button, and of course hope they'll release it sooner rather than later. But we've all been burned by delusions of grandeur before. Remember the rumours for the 4S?

Regardless, part of me can't wait for the waves of vitriol if the iPhone 7S is announced instead. :D
Actually, I can't recall 4S rumors. Was that the one with a possibly wedge shape design?

I'm sure it's nothing like that ugly concept design in the article.
I wonder who made that, some people have zero talent, despite knowing how to use design softwares.

Which iPhone prototype was it that an employee left at a bar out there in or near Cuppertino ?
4.

Yeah, couldn't resist doing the "LOL A RUMOR ON MACRUMORS WTF AM I HERE FOR?!?!?" comment of the day.
Thanks, TrueBlou.

My post had literally nothing to do with a rumour, rumours are why I've been visiting this website for the past dozen or so years. It had everything to do with the fact that suggesting work on an unreleased, unfinished device is rather axiomatic, which I found slightly amusing.

Had it to say something along the lines of, Apple employee hints next device to be named iPhone 8, now that would be different. Or Apple employee mentions iPhone 8 name in connection with next device, also different.

But work on an unfinished project is ongoing, yeah that's clearly the "rumour" part. That there are people working on the iPhone 8, or even the next iPhone is in no way shape or form a rumour, that would be a fact, but well done.

Ehh, they'd have freaked out just as much if it was called the 5 but in the same shell.

Honestly, I just can't see this phone released next year. 2018, definitely. They've stuck to the redesign/S gen tick/tock cycle since 2008. I can't imagine that's going to change next year.

Besides, if it's such a massive redesign, they might have that 'S gen cushion' to completely perfect it over the course of a year, ensuring it's truly mindblowing.
We are on to series 3 of iPhone 5 (iPhone SE) and series 3 of iPhone 6 (iPhone 7).

It's time to leave that old tech design behind.

Sounds great but I wouldn't touch a vastly different first iteration of an iphone.

The 's' cycle is the one to get IMO.
