I actually dislike the Goldman Sachs and Mastercard logos on the back A LOT, ugh, waste of space. The mag stripe makes it look meh.

The last question for a UK user: will it even be contactless enabled? I know Apple Pay is there for that reason but when a friend/family visits and we go through London public transport I just let them use my physical card while I pay via Apple Pay. Not even sure they'll be able to offer the Card here anyway, it's been years since Apple Cash was introduced in the USA and there's not a peep about it coming here.
No Contactless because they want you to use Apple Pay everywhere. If family and friends come to visit they can Apple Pay themselves

Isn't it more a Goldman Sachs credit card rather than an Apple card? (true, it is Apple branded, but…)

It’s literally called “Apple Card”...

Are you trying to play devil’s advocate? Lol. It’s not that deep.

And also, if I don’t have to go to Goldman Sach’s website to check anything Apple Card related then its DEFF not a “Goldman Sachs” credit card in my eyes.

They’ll be quita few uses by a high percentage of us Apple ecosystem users:
Apple Music
iCloud storage
AppleTV+
Back to school Mac purchases,
Magic Trackpad and mouse replacements,
AppleCare+ warranty repairs!!

^ and that’s all the very low hanging fruit that’s very affordable (under $200)

Let’s not forget:
Cases,
Qi chargers,
AirPods, Beats,
Books purchases (? Maybe),

Out of Warranty repairs,
New Mac, iPhone and iPad upgrades after September, Apple Watch....

And just think about Apple employees allowing friends/family to use their discount. If I were an employee I would charge everything to the card and have my friends/fam send me the cash.

Bit much of invasion of privacy when one company has all your fingerprint, 3D face map, health, email history, internet usage, location tracking, spending, credit reports, etc. That's a lot to put in one basket if another iCloud security leak occurs.

Your 3D face map, health and fingerprints are not stored on Apple servers but on the A%%x chip inside your phone, tablet or newer Mac. I'm not gullible enough to believe that it's not possible that Apple does indeed store that information somewhere in Apple-world but I'll take them at their word for it that they do not. (I prefer to take Apple's word for security and privacy measures than, for example, the words of Google or Amazon.

Not everywhere accepts Apple Pay several stores have removed NFC terminals or at least turned off access to the NFC portions on them. A ton of stores have transitioned to NFC but it'll probably be another 10-20 years before a lot more do too as there really is no incentive too and not enough people understand the benefit of NFC payments over swipe or chip besides efficiency. Most people that ask me about it don't think it's safe either.

The card is also titanium and it doesn't have any numbers or information on the card, no CVV, expiration, or anything else. Sleek and simple.

Probably the biggest perk is rewards are instant. There isn't a wait for the next billing period or wait until you're at a point level or have to do something to claim rewards or only using rewards on specific things. Reward money instantly after any payment with the card goes to the Apple Pay Cash card in the Wallet app. It can be used toward anything then including making the payment on the card, just transferring it to a bank account, or using/keeping it on the Apple Pay Cash card.

I can't believe the level of fanboyism for some folks with this. I get 2% on all purchases on a Visa, which is taken everywhere unlike MasterCard. Physical or Apple Pay, doesn't matter, 2% all the time.

Also I don't get why some people are so hyped about the look of it when the the whole point of Apple Pay, to get the 2% CB, is that you don't have to carry a card around. It's just a flip'n card that other CC's have better benefits. Numbers folks, do that actual math.

Sure it is

People give the majority of that information to banks and places like Walmart anymore. The majority of what you listed isn't kept in iCloud either even, it's all local not connected to the internet. Most iCloud leaks are user error too, majority of which is just awful password selection and more often than not no 2FA. Either way if you use a laptop or smartphone or any tech ever or regularly go to the doctor it's not like the majority of that information isn't out there already, it's just hidden on the internet.

The only thing I can see to get excited about is for apple purchases.... help me if I'm wrong.

I have a Capital One Silver - 1.5% cash back (better than apple)
And a Amazon Card - 5% on Amazon purchases, 2% on gas and such...

So, how is this Apple Card anything to get excited about outside of the obvious Apple purchases?

It’s 2% on non-Apple purchases via Apple Pay, which is obviously the point of the “card”. Why did you leave that out?

iphone 7? not even iphone 6.
Indeed I stand corrected & thx.

I’m not sure anyone can share the card within ApplePay could have Apple think of fraud but who knows; keychain could make it viable. Hmmm. Still great idea!!

A Black card is synonymous with wealth and privilege, we don't need any posers pretending their part of the club.

Bruh! I pull the ‘black’ card every day of my 46yrs of my life & im still waiting for wealth and privilege! Oh wait you didn’t mean THAT card j/k lol.

Stores have had their own credit cards for decades. The difference is now stores are making credit cards that work anywhere. Of course, Sears did that decades ago, and airlines have been all over that idea for ages too.
If by credit cards you mean store credit, i.e. the store owing you money off your next purchase, that's different and a lot easier to sign up for. I've never seen a store credit card where you can actually be in debt to the store. And anyway, when someone says "credit card," it means one you can use widely.

If you have a 2% cash back card, you lose only 1%. If you buy an average of $2000 worth of goods from Apple, that's $20.00 to have yet another credit card. Is $20 a year that big of a deal to make it worth the hassle of having another credit card?
It's not, but people undervalue their time when it comes to obtaining free stuff / discounts. Give away free $3 ice cream, and people will drive to your store and wait in line for that.

we use square and don't pay extra for amex customers.
That's interesting. Amex is supposed to have higher merchant fees. Wonder if Square has anything to do with that.

Does that really matter? A billing cycle is about a month, so on average you get your reward half a month late. Unless someone is living paycheck-to-paycheck, that's negligible.

Are you joking?

I mean, i had a Macy’s credit card decades ago. Store credit cards, where you pay with them and owe them the money, have been around forever.

it's entirely possible, but i'm pretty sure i specifically checked.

Square and similar platforms charge the same rate across all card networks for ease of use - I suspect lower volume and a variety of cards sort of balance things out. It also makes things easier to say "we take everything and it doesn't matter."

Amex has been working with some merchants/payment processors to try to encourage growth (through their OptBlue initiative): https://optblue.com/

Finally, higher tiers like Visa Signature, Visa Infinite, World Mastercard, and World Elite Mastercard often have higher fees for merchants with varied payment processing rates (like most larger retailers where "Amex is higher"). These have crept up to even be more than Amex in some cases, which is part of the reason why Kroger has been fighting with Visa in some markets.

thanks for the details! guess i read correctly. :)

While I am all for new cards, this is not worth the hard pull. As others have mentioned, get the Citi double cash if you want cash back.
