That doesn't mean it's not overpriced for what it is.

The market decides what is overpriced. What you think is overpriced has no bearing on that fact. And of course no one is forcing you pay what Apple is charging, don't like the price don't buy it. The sense of entitlement is amazing.

Heh, it's not just what I think, trust me... I am far from the only person who feels Apple products are overpriced and that their markups are close to insane.

When do the employees get to purchase the watch? If the supplies are going to be limited at launch, Apple should wait a while until employees can purchase a watch so the consumers can get the item first--especially if the employees are getting half off...

You just described the market forces which come into play. Pretty simple, don't like the price don't buy the product. That is how the market works.

Says the guy with a Retina Macbook Pro, iPad 2 and an iPhone 6/64GB. By saying something is overpriced but then still buy them makes you appear hypocritical.

I'll buy the product when the inevitable price drop hits.

I don't need an Apple Watch that bad. I'm willing to wait for a more fair price and let the diehards have at it first.

Retina MacBook Pro = got on sale
iPad 2 = got on sale
iPhone 6 = group discount

Any other assumptions you want to make, or are you done?

I applaud this move by Apple. It's both a savy business move and a way to treat your empoyees right. I'm not sure why people jump to the conclusion that this is a sign that Apple must be ripping us off.

The employees will be some of the best salesmen for the Apple Watch. If nearly every Apple employee has a watch, they'll be much better suited to talk about how great it is and how they use it in their personal lives.

Of course you had an answer to address your hypocritical post. Pity you can't prove any of it to be true. My suggestion is to remove those items from your signature before accusing Apple of over-pricing their products. You're making your case look very poor.

And I'm supposed to care about your opinion of me, why?

You're just text to me, Henry. Deal with that.

Nice discount for the employees. That is the price it should be MSRP for sales to go crazy high though. IMO the lowest priced apple watch should be $100 less than current price to make it more attractive.

I will wait and see how much the hardware actually costs to see how low they will go w gen2.

So that's why Apple is selling more product than it ever has?

You seem to think more than you're willing to pay = overpriced.

Hey, you can disagree with me all you want. But the reality is Apple has, in the past, lowered the price of a new product within months of its release due to overpricing.

So it's not out of the realm of possibility that it will happen again.

Looks like it bothered you what I said, so I would say you do care based on your reply. This is a discussion board and my reply to you was on topic. I called you out for your ridiculous post because you say something is overpriced but still bought it. Take it personally all you want, but that's on you. I don't get personal with people here. I'm just stating a fact. Deal with that. :p

When did Apple lower the price of the iPad mini or iPhone 5C (both products people here said were overpriced)?

Well then Android Wear devices must be really overpriced since Google was giving them away to developrs at last years I/O conference. :D

While what you're saying makes perfect sense, you have to realize the company that is selling these watches. This isn't some startup company that needs to prove their relevance. Apple's reputation of quality products brings customers to their door. Would you charge more if you knew people would pay for it?

This is a perfect time to use my new favorite meme image.
