Except that “plastic screen protector” on top of ultra thing glass cannot be removed. I suggest familiarize yourself with what the inner screen will actually be like and the true lack of durability it has. JerryRigEverything just posted a video about the Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra, although the screen is larger it still has the same tech. If you truly do plan on purchasing an “iPhone Ultra”, I highly recommend doing the research.

Do the research? You mean watch a YouTube video where a guy dumps a whole bunch of dirt and sand into a device with a folding mechanism and then says “hey kids, look, I broke it! Isn’t that cool?”

Take a MacBook, dump a whole bunch of sand in it, and then open it. Guess what? It’s going to creek and crack just like the folding phones do.
Same with a flip phone from 20 years ago.

And by the way, I did watch his video, and guess what? The phone survived.
He scratched it, he dumped sand all in it, and then he did the first bend test, which it passed. He did the bend test again just to finally kill it, but at that point the phone had already passed the durability test.
If you have to take the razor blade to the screen or take it to the beach and dunk it in a whole bunch of sand before bending it as far back as it will go to destroy it, I would say that it’s pretty durable. These aren’t really realistic scenarios. Even taking it to a day at the beach, again, as long as you’re not burying it in the sand, it should be fine. Maybe give it a little rinse afterwards, it is water resistant.

I can't speak on Apple's approach on this, since the phone hasn't even been released, but this is true on Samsung, Moto, and Google folds sold in the USA.
