Since we can assume the first invitation is for the iPod and the second for the Macs (see pictures' name), I think it simply give a hint for the new iPod Touch or an new iPod Touch Nano (Give it a "little" "touch") and updated Macbook/MBP/MBA cases (see the 3 ray of lights, Take another "look").

you do hjave a point. but I see something a bit bigger here...

maybe "Take another look" means that macbooks will take on a new look (aluminum).

I really want to see an aluminium MacBook. Maybe, it will resemble the 12" PowerBook G4 in some way too. :D

ACD Upgrade

I am betting that the three rays in the invitation plus the Title of the Invite plus the long overdueness of the this particular product line means that we will see an upgrade in the Apple Cinema Display line. Of course the three rays reflecting each of the different sizes.

I would say around 1500 2000.

Maybe:
2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM standard
11-13" Touch-screen display (not sure exactly which size)
Superdrive
Mac OS X
ATI Radeon 3200 IGP
160GB Hard Drive, 320GB Hard Drive option
$1499

hey man don't expect that much. That looks more like a macbook pro base line
model.:D And the macbook pro is much expensive. (2000$) If you want to replace it for a touch model like the picture and keep the same specs (if you can) it's gonna be more around 2200 2500

I was more thinking of that :
MACBOOK TOUCH
intel core 2 duo 1.83/2.0 ghz
2gb ram standart
9 - 11 inch (not sure neither)
no superdrive (like the macbook air)
mac os X
intel x3100
120gb (160gb option)
1699$

Only time will tell us :D

That would be more of an "iPhone OS X" mini-tablet then and make it like $1199 or something.

I expect two tablets. One at September 9th (regular MacBook Touch tablet) and one at MWSF 2009 (iPhone OS X mini-Tablet).

Toss in a 3G SIM slot and Ethernet and FW port then I am sold. Even at $2000USD

21" 24" and 32" may be? all HD widescreen....

or maybe 3 versons of a new mac mini? one with no screen, one with a bulit in screen (like an imac mini) and one with an optional, decatachable screen?

Dude, that would be awesome, those mac minis you're talking about.

Why the 9??

How come all the rumors are focused on the 9th? Apple has their "back to school" deal right now, blowing out iPods, notebooks, and iMacs until Sept 15th. If there's going to be an event in Sept, wouldn't it make more sense to postpone it until after they've cleared out the old stock (like on the 16th)?

what will happen is that the updated products wont be eligible for the back to school deals

Don't you remember last year and even before
Apple has done this and could do it again by not including the new products in the promo :D

Yeah, they could do that... or they could wait a week... or two... or three... They definitely don't seem to be rushing to release new products. My other thought is: if they DO put out new product on the 9th, I'm guessing they won't be ready to ship until... oh... maybe October? I bought the first gen 17in MBP (using it right now actually), and it was something crazy like 4 months between the announcement and the actual shipping date.

I am 100% certain something will happen on September 9th.
