What about the iMacs and Cinema Displays? Do you see them going to 16:9 ratio this year? Also, they are going to increase in size as well if they move to 16:9 ratio?
I think they will by 1 to 2 inches. The resolution, however, will likely go down from 1680*1050 and 1920*1200 to 1600*900 and 1920*1080.

Or, Apple could unify the resolutions at 1920*1080 and differentiate the iMacs more by specs (low-end GPU and dual-core CPU in the 20", midrange GPU and quad-core (or high-end dual-core) CPU in the 24").

Either or both ways would likely mean the iMac moves down in the low end, which increases the likelihood of a dual-core Atom-based Mac nano (whatever that probability is).

It's gunna hurt when reality hits as no invitations exist this Tuesday.
Right on.

And let the whining commence... until the invitations show up the next day. :D

I can see an lower end imac bellow one grand with a 13- 15" screen.... basic specs...

I can see that happening (but 19" instead of 13"~15"), but I'm not sure if it's likely.

That iMac would bridge the gap between the rest of the iMacs and the Atom Mac nano or the Mac mini. So I see integrated GPUs, a cheap dual-core CPU, and other specs like the educational 17" white iMac (which it would replace).

My only worry is that, if its display is 16:9, its resolution would be something like 1366*768 (instead of 16:10 1440*900).

iMacs: 19" 1366*768 (~$899), 22" 1600*900 (~$1299), 26" 1920*1080 (~$1999).
MacBook (Pro)s: 11"/12" 1280*720 (~$899), 13" 1366*768 (~$1299), 15" 1600*900 (~$2299), 17" 1920*1080 (~$2799).

Anyway, it could be 13" since 16:9 means the MacBook and MacBook Pro go up 1" (something I forgot to do in my previous post).

And what happens if the size increase (13" to 14", 15" to 16" etc...) does not happen and the ratio is still changed to 16:9?

i think in order to go 16:9 you will need to have a 14" 16 or 18" screen.... may be the 13" may also drop to a 12" to match 16:9 idk

This is what I really don't get - why do you need a larger screen to display fewer pixels?

Hmm...

...maybe!

They probably wouldn't do it, but it'd be cool if it was an image showing more of the SDK roadmap image they used...

The second one says the 16th. There goes the free ipod if this is true. I hope it wont be any later than that though. I hope we can find some old gen brand new touches on ebay for not too much. If they drop the price of the MBP, we might get enough for a "free" one.

What the hell is the image in that second promo shot?

If you look good at the image, you can see that tere's 3 lines that goes in one big circle on the top.
This could mean that 3 products would get updates.
I'm thinking of the notebooks what do you think???
and is it real???
