The way I look at it, everyone knows the new MBP will be coming soon, so there is no reason to buy one right now. Til then I am happy with my current iMac. Also, congrats on making the switch.

Thanks. It was a no brainer after taking graphic design where all we used were Macs. It's just been a matter of money ever since, and now that I do have the funds, there's this "wait till the upgrade or you'll regret it" crap... I'm aware that it's not a good time to buy the MBP, which is why I haven't yet. I don't want buyer's remorse mucking up the new Mac feeling I'll have when my MBP arrives. I just hate waiting. Patience isn't a strong point for me unfortunately.

Hmmm... Interesting....

Wasn't there something about the rumored tablet not being quite ready for a MWSF release? Maybe...

What if the Apple UMPC using Silverthorne is coming out mid-summer, and what if it has 3G cellular builtin?

Apple might preannounce it at the end of Feb (we know that Silverthorne protos are around) so that there won't be the issue of FCC leaks during qualification.

UMPC is a Microsoft marketing term. So it won't be called this, whatever it's called.

Definitely iphone/touch SDK. Steve will showcase the new features and the best apps.

I'm having a heck of a time keeping up with the possible updates-- can someone please refresh my memory as to what the SDK is all about?

I was planning on buying an iPod touch sometime this month-- I almost bought one last weekend, but with this rumor floating around I believe I will indeed wait out the rest of the month, hoping at least for a price drop/shift for the 16gb and 32 gb.

Sdk

The new SDK is to be the premier platform to build for mac and iPhone. It really is 1 unified platform now, thanks to the delay of Leopard by 6 months.
This will be Steve's equivalent of Ballmer's "DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS,DEVELOPERS" presentation.

While I agree with you that it doesn't make much sense for them to make an aluminum MacBook, I believe they will eventually. Why? Because of this stupid "green" nonsense. Making plastic (petroleum) products will be a thing of the past for them eventually. It's stupid...

Worst post of the day nominee...

Exchange support?

I really think the biggest announcement could be Exchange support for the iPhone which would make it a direct competitor to RIMM and a real option for business customers. Does a SDK automatically mean that Exchange support will be offered?

Orange iPod nano :)

....Seriously? Out of all the things you could expect and hope for, all you want is an orange iPod nano?! Are you serious?!

Well... I'm hoping for an update to the iMacs. They're due for a processor upgrade, if you hadn't noticed. I've heard some people request a better video card, and personally 2 GB of ram included isn't too much to ask, I don't think. Maybe a new mouse with some sort of touch sensitive top to it. Blue Ray would be nice as well.

Of course MBP updates and iPhone SDK can be expected.

Wow...

Quit it with your MacBook Pro whining, go buy one and get your work done.

My new 16GB iPhone awaits this SDK

I hope they update the Mac Mini, the MacBook, the iMac, the MacBook Air, the Mac Pro, the Apple TV, the Airport Express, Final Cut Studio, the entire iPod lineup, make the iPhone Nike+ compatible.... and leave the MacBook Pro hanging so we can here you pigs squeal a little while longer

price drop for ipod touch?

would it be a possibility for Apple to drop the price on the 8 GB to $249, 16 GB to $349 and the 32 GB to $399?
