Amen. This is everything anyone could reasonably want. What's wrong with you folks? The only disappointment is no Mini yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

The no notch people are going to defecate a feline.

You had me at Magsafe with Thunderbolt/USB C charging, HDMI, and SD card support and a REAL KEYBOARD!

Maybe in a year. I'm not in the "launch day" crowd on this one. I need to get another year out of my current MBP and get some dental work done before I can justify this one to the Mrs.

Besides, I want to wait. I will never order another Apple laptop sight unseen, or at launch time again after my last 2. I will wait at least 6-8 months and got to the Apple store to play with it for a while first.

Flexgate and the butterfly keyboard got me on both fronts. I'm a wait and see now. Especially since I have a working laptop that I really only use to remote into work with and watch cat videos on You Tube with.

I'm chuckling at all the knuckleheads here who are calling the design "dated." It's a minimalist, unadorned design. The old titanium G4 and aluminum first-gen MacBook Pros were clean, elegant designs. Not everybody wants a laptop that looks like it came out of a video game. That's the Alienware and Razer aesthetic. If that's what you like, go buy that. I want a precision tool that looks clean and professional.

Glad to see the 16GB, 512GB SSD standard. I still think the 14” model is overpriced compared to what you get on the big boy.

B&H & other outlets will likely have the 16” models at sub $2400 before the end of the year

So if you can live that dongle life a little longer that’s probably the best bet IMO.

base model 14" has only 8 cores CPU and 14 cores GPU
segmentation is very hard this generation!

Uh, sure, because they only changed the hardware to accommodate that over this past weekend, because they read rants about it last week on MacRumors?

It was always part of the specification, but someone definitely gave them a note they needed to mention it in the presentation. Why else the change in camera angle for that one sentence alone?

$1999.00 14" Base doesn't include 16 core GPU nor the 10 core CPU. It's only 8-Core CPU/14-Core GPU. $500 extra for the full "M1 Pro".
