Oh FFS, $2K for a 14" laptop. My 2015 MBP 13" was $1100.

And how does the performance of that 2015 MBP 13" compare to the performance of the newly released 14" MBP with M1 Pro?

EDIT: LOL at someone "disliking" a simple question 🤣🤣 Maybe you just don't want to face the facts?

No Mac mini. Boo.

Notch doesn't bother me and its great to see the SD card slot back - that was a huge pain to me for my short stint with a post 2015 MBP. Will hold off judgement on these until someone takes one of these apart.

Also just noticed the power adapter implementation, I like this solution.

They even made the text of their webpage menus extra small so you can get accustomed to the size of your new MacBook top menu lol.

Wanting to see gaming performance and how it compares to the 5600M
They would have needed some games for that...

By the way, the rumours were true: Apple has hidden the notch on every single marketing image for the new MBPs on their website save for one, with the result that every application shown on the pictures lacks the menu bar.

I was very impressed by the new mbp. These ads just make me wish I was a digital artist.
As a digital artist, I would’ve been blown away IF… they allowed me to draw on the screen. Not that I was expecting it, but this won’t get me to replace my Galaxy Book Pro (or my 2019 MacBook Pro).

For real, the M1 Pro and Max laptops are likely massively overkill for most regular users. The pricing for actual pros who need the additional grunt is ok (not great but not massively overpriced).

to be honest, to cost to upgrade from the lowest end m1 pro chip to the highest m1 max chip isn't that high, the initial cost to even buy this macbook to begin with is already high. and then the upgrade in SSD and RAM that cannot be changed after you bought it, your wallet is gonna hurt very badly

While I'm sad to see the TouchBar go(although not completely killed off), I was pretty impressed with this event. Those new chips are phenomenal! New MBP design is a bit meh. Not amazing but not terrible. These machines are defo for content creators. I knew they weren't gonna be cheap 😂

RIP Intel and AMD.

ugly design! The shape & curve, was it based on 2010 mbp model?!!

I think they look a lot like the aluminum PowerBook G4 and the first Intel MacBook Pros. Sort of like the iMac with colors, what's old is new again - including the prices! Apple has priced themselves out of my home.

No Mac Mini, iMac, or Mac Pro. Major dissapointment but I guess on the bright side other people will get to test drive the M1 Max and M1 Pro before it goes into those models.
