It's a bit of a sad state of affairs at AAPL when "colors and things other phones have had for years" is considered "awe dropping".

Siri is still totally helpless years later and macos continues to bloat. Everyone keeps saying "just wait, Apple will get it together"...I'm not sure "get it together" means what the fanbois think it does...

The Z Fold 7 really has me one foot out the door, I am really, really wanting/hoping Apple can catch up (I don't need foldable, I just need something more than an iPhone 13 with some new colors and thermal problems others solved years ago).

The Jony Ive hangover remains a thing...thin is GREAT, don't get me wrong, but it's of no use when:

1. They overheat so you can't use them because, well, thermals...the more you shrink something (esp with materials that, sure, are incredibly sexy, but that don't really dissipate heat as well)...

2. You have an incredibly thin device but you're carrying a brick of a power bank for anything more than light use for an hour or two away from an outlet...ugh.

Fair! I guess it’s just unfortunate that they were overheating in the first place.

The phone specks/details haven't even been announced yet, how about waiting until then before complaining about something that may/may not be true.

Very few and brave souls carry a phone without a case, the majority will be slapping a case on so does it matter what colour it is :)

Yeah, naked iPhones are super slippery and nearly impossible to operate with one hand, so to go caseless one needs:
1) AppleCare+ and high tolerance to small bumps and scratches which are not covered by it; or
2) To live alone in a well carpeted place, no children, elderly or pets allowed.

Of course there are transparent cases too, but TPU ones inevitably turn yellow after 3-5 months, unless they are kept in a cave away from any form of sunlight. Transparent cases with hard plastic are great for collecting and displaying all sorts of junk between the case and iPhone body, often scratching the latter.

I do take my iPhone for a breather every now and again, but then the case goes on again every time I go for a drive or a dog walk. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Vapor chamber will never come, it cost $0.01 more. Finance department probably will ask the engineers for a cost reduction solution like asking customers to use it in the optimal conditions or use an ice pack when performance is needed.
The extra cost will be offset by the addition of a lanyard-ready loop, think of all the colourful $50 lanyards they will sell thanks to that!

With the upgraded Vapor chamber cooling pushing the A19, I’m going to guess video recording is getting upgraded to

8K/60 wProRes (ONLY w/attached SSD)
8K/30fps
4K/240 fps
4/120 fps
1080p/300fps

Amazing how a hardware advancement that keeps the phone functioning normally is being considered a "Feature." iPhone 17 sounds like it's going to be a real winner.

It is. The iPhone’s back in 2008 didn’t require much as users didn’t use it much. Now that users are actually pushing their iPhone’s harder, it’s going to need to stay cool. It’s also a great way to beta test the vapor chamber before bringing it to the MacBook Air and iPad Pro.

I am very very happy they kept the Mac mini PSU as internal. I was dreading Apple releasing a Mac mini with a power brick twice the size and weight of the Mac mini itself.

Typical Apple - no one actually cares about "vapor cooling." Yes, you can say it cools better, but no one cares about the intricacies.

And making it a feature? That's like saying "hey our car used to get ****** gas mileage when it shouldn't - but now we've fixed it!"

"Tech nerds" (I'm including myself in this, no offense intended to others) care about the "how" of technology, general end-user do not. They want faster iPhones with longer battery life that don't get hot. They don't care how Apple achieves that, they only care about the result.

It's always worth keeping in kind that there are far more general end-users than tech nerds, and appropriately enough, Apple will pay lip service to tech nerds but will really focus on the general end-user as their primary target market. And, despite howls of discontent on tech forums, it makes sense for Apple to do this, as they're no longer a small, niche computer maker any more. They are a massive mass-market focused corporation.

They should add a wallpaper that uses the back camera and then shows it live to the lock screen and Home Screen. Easiest way to make a transparent phone… it’s a feature! Starts at $1999.99!

The logo reacts to touch. So I think the watch or AirPods are update with registering warmth. Think fever or a cycle over a longer period of time stating something about your health. Just my two cents.
