No he was known as a racist, a misogynist, and even the sociopath that he is for a long time by people who knew him or even met him casually. It's just that he wasn't running for leader of the free world. He just had a horrible reality tv show and a bunch of failed businesses. No one paid much attention to his crap until he wanted more power. Then people like me, who forgot that he existed, or thought of him as a punchline to a joke, started to take notice of his horrible views. He is racist. He his a sociopath. His past tweets prove that.
Trump is many of the things you said, but he wasn’t considered a racist. Trump spent a lot of time hanging out in the ‘80s with the likes of Don King, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton.

(now that I think about it, maybe he WAS racist)

And yes, before Trump declared as a Republican, he was the toast of leftist parties on both coasts.

There’s no doubt that Trump is and has been a misogynist — but so were 90% of the men in Hollywood and in the media during his heyday.

Trump has many failings, but inventing afflictions — or comparing his previous behaviors by modern woke standards — is disingenuous…

As a reminder, Donald Trump was not considered a racist until he ran against the Democratic Party for president. Before that, he was mostly beloved by Hollywood and the media.
Hate it when reality gets in the way. Trump is many things I don’t like personally (narcissism, serial adulterer being big ones) but I have never understood the claims he was racist, homophobic, etc. He appointed Richard Grenell to Director of National Intelligence, the first openly gay member of the Cabinet of the US.

Yeah, people really love whining about imaginary persecution of billionaires :rolleyes::rolleyes:

And "Trump was beloved until he ran against Hillary". Okay, that takes the cake as the funniest thing I've read in this thread all day 🤣🤣🤣

Trump was one of the pioneers of the racist "birther" movement. He was far from being an innocent beloved misunderstood billionaire before he took on "radical leftist" Hill-dawg.

This is a big problem. They have screwed the political spectrum so much they think a conservative democrat like Biden is a radical liberal. Most people voted for Biden because they are just trying to stop the radical right wing minority from taking over the government. Biden is a centrist at best. Same with Hillary. Bernie was the only real liberal to run in many years and even he isn't that far left.
Biden might have been a Centrist Democrat many years ago. He has tailored his presidency to his woke and far left 20 and 30’s something staffers.

I can assure you we leftists think Biden is far from being a leftist. He is a centrist, through and through. Americans just have a very skewed view of what the left actually is. Serving corporate donors, rejecting universal health care, fueling the military-industrial complex in the same way Obama did...none of that is "leftist". It is very much the kind of centrist status quo that both parties preserve.

He also sent a Tweet calling for peace. He should have done more to stop it (and he should have acted faster), but he did not encourage people to kill Mike Pence (I’ve heard that uttered more than a few times) or riot.
Doing the absolute bare minimum after the fact does not absolve him from all he did to create the situation in the first place.

I love watching all of these snowflakes taking their ball and going home. Oh no, someone I don't like is on this platform with millions of other idiots! I'm going to show everyone my pouty face and uninstall.

They clearly overestimate how much people care. 99/100 people.. "Phil who?"

No, it really isn’t. The testimony is virtually exclusively from Trump officials and other Republicans. Clearly you haven’t bothered watching any of it or reading up on the findings. Unfortunate but common.
Having Cheney and Kinzinger on the Committee does not really make it bipartisan. The witnesses are almost exclusively Republicans because they served in his administration and were present on 1-6-21. You make it seem like there are like Republicans lining up to testify against him. That’s not the case.

100% agree. I said it that day as it was happening, he was taking too long to say something. He is for sure guilty of that, but not of many of the other accusations thrown around.

Don't quit Twitter. Set up a new account on a service such as Tribel. Then make your posts on Tribel and post a link to them on Twitter. What better way to drive users away from the Twitter platform?
Nah I'm good. There's enough leftist echo chambers as it is, I assume Tribel is just yet another one. Never heard of it.
