Freedom of speech protects you from the government, not a private company. Freedom of speech doesn't allow you to say whatever you want without consequences.

Why aren't we shining a light on the government trying to control/censor social media companies?

Because that doesn't fit the "Elon Bad" narrative.

Right, the guy who said "nothing fundamentally will change" and opposes single-payer healthcare is "far left".That's like saying Mitt Romney is "far right". You guys have no idea what "far left" means and it would shock you if you met an actual far left individual.

I suspect this is his/her misunderstanding.

1. S/he correctly understands “free speech” does not exist in private organizations.

2. So, no one has “free speech” on Twitter. That is correct because the First Amendment (and the other Bill of Rights) only limits government.

3. However, where his disconnect comes in… is his/her misunderstanding of the definition censorship. S/he is of the mistaken belief censorship can only occur by a government. S/he thinks there’s some “legal” component to the term…hence his reference to ‘colloquial v legal’.

4. Such mistakes are common among those who’s earned their jd from Google.

I never said the guy was far right, I said that that tweet was a radical far right position and there is no denying that it is.

Wouldn’t shock me either. This is the same Apple that has banned Pepe the frog from appearing in an app, as it’s a ‘hate symbol’ according to Apple

Despite being widely used in the gaming and discord community.
What is Pepe the frog? I’ve never heard of it. But are you saying because it’s widely used in the gaming community that it should be allowed?

The media brainwashed people well with that one, that or they never have seen a real insurrection
It was an attempted insurrection by definition. The brainwashing was to convince the right wing base that it was a simple peaceful protest... but anyone who watches live on tv could see that it wasn't.

It’s one of the most popular internet memes. Even LGBTQ groups on discord use it.

Why would apple ban a cartoon frog, because one person on the right used it once? Silly.
