I hope Phil and all these people will start their own platforms, aka the right platforms with the right ideology. At the end of the day it was them who were saying, create your own platform if you don't like the current one. It's a private company and can do whatever it wants. They said that..

It isn’t team sports, champ.

Not a twitter user, but I'm pretty sure they banned Trump because of he broke the terms of service by posting covid disinformation, election lies, and content that incited violence and an insurrection. It's never been just a "disagreement".

They banned Trump due to posts regarding and related to January 6 activities.

i don't even understand what people are outraged about. he bought it and owns it, and wants to improve it and everyone is upset because he allows people on there that you have a disagreement with. where is all this self-righteousness coming from? most twitter users are secular so they don't even have a justification for their fake moral codes
As to Musk, it's not at all clear that he "wants to improve it." And even if we assume that he does, there are strong indications he does not understand what made it work so well, and some indications that his Saudi financial backers are motivated by his history as a chaos agent, rather than by a desire to improve dialogue (or even to make money). Also, while some users may be motivated to leave by "self-righteousness," many others are leaving because they do not believe the platform will continue to work as it has previously.

In short, your assumption that people are acting out of outrage is based on other assumptions that are questionable.

Not "everyone". Just one side of the political spectrum. The rest of us want actual free speech on Twitter. Even if that means someone else gets mad.
Free speech is the same as it always has been in this country. And it doesn’t equate to freedom of consequence from said speech. There’s a difference a certain side of the political spectrum doesn’t get. Never has. But facts and reality mostly elude them.

Edit: Grammatical correction.

Apple's Phil Schiller, responsible for Apple events and the App Store, has deactivated his Twitter account following recent developments on the platform.

phill-leaves-twitter-2.jpg

Schiller often used his account to promote new Apple products, services, software, and initiatives and interact with customers. As noted on Twitter by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, however, Schiller's account no longer exists. The account had over 200,000 followers and was created in November 2008 according to a web archive of the account dated November 4.

Yesterday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced that former President Trump's account would be reinstated on the platform following its suspension in January 2021. In a recent interview, Apple's CEO Tim Cook commented about the future of Twitter and the social media platform's relationship with Apple. During the interview, Cook said he remained hopeful Twitter would uphold its moderation standard under the new leadership.

Lol, who cares?

Not fixed. I specifically called out conservative media because they aren't even remotely interested in providing facts and information. None of them. They are engaged in propaganda to promote and support conservative power. The rest of the media is either actually trying to inform or are a reaction to the conservative media's disinformation and propaganda. If it weren't for Fox News there would never be an MSNBC. There are good media outlets like NPR and AP and the like that are just doing their best to dispel the misinformation and report the actual news. Don't paint those institutions with the same brush as Fox, OAN, Sky News, News Max... etc...
Please. Liberal media, conservative media. They’ve all got agendas which means misinformation abounds, like I said in an earlier post.

Again I was calling out the conservative media which, unlike the so called liberal media, have no interest in informing the public, but instead are only there as a propaganda wing of the Republican Party. The "liberal media" is just a reaction to that. Most of the "mainstream media" is actually fair.

their "morals" change like the wind too. it's not rooted in any real principles. whatever is en vongue that's all. if the collective hivemind decides using a toilet is bad, they will call everyone that uses a toilet a demon.

Right, just like how you consistently follow your religious text to the letter. I'm sure Jesus would be proud.

Having been very close to the mass media and news industries throughout my career, and now being 72 yrs old, I can tell you that they’ve been broken for quite a long time, particularly with the inception of the internet. They are relying on clicks and eyeballs, and that means standing out. It’s hard to stand out in such a crowded online field sitting in the middle. I have seen the NY Times and Washington Post lose so much credibility over the last several decades. I have seen the WSJ lose much of its as well. The problems will not get fixed with folks shouting at each other and failing to acknowledge the pervasiveness of the biases and movements to extremes on both ends of the political spectrum. We all have to step up. And the first step is to acknowledge that we are all part of the problem.
