It's unclear if the thinner display technology would translate to overall thinner iPhones next year.

that's exactly what they did, in case you didn't notice... 🤦🏻♂️I think we need to stop trying to make everything thinner & lighter. Focus on better and longer battery life, stronger glass, and durability.
correct. But everyone here seems eager to write that non sense...Not entirely sure what you're getting at because as far as I know the iPhone hasn't become thinner or fundamentally lighter (if at all) in generations.
If there's anything Apple should take away from its recent lessons is that thinness for the sake of thinness isn't always a good thing, especially if other features suffer for it.Does a thinner display mean thinner phone? Or does it mean more room for a larger battery?
We reached the breaking point (literally) of phone thinness.

A comment like this in 2019 is ridiculous.Virtually no one outside of Apple wants thinner phone. BATTERY LIFE is our main concern.
I've yet to see any rumors indicating iOS 14 is getting a redesignI don't know if I'm more excited for the iPhone 12 Pro Max or iOS 14 supposed redesign. If the former is considerable I'd be tempted to upgrade.
are we skipping the S years so no more 11S Pro
5.4” is too small. 6.7” is too big. 6.1” will have compromises. Where do I go?!
I agree. 5.8" is the sweet spotAm I the only one puzzled by this lineup ?
I definitely want a "Pro" model, but I think the 5.4" would be slightly too small (the 5.8" is just perfect). What I know for sure is the 6.7" is way too big for my tastes...
Not considering the 6.1", right size but I don't want any compromise...

We've seen a similar approach in the past...are we skipping the S years so no more 11S Pro

This is my frustration, exactly. To me, the 5.8" is the perfect size. Don't want to go to a phone that's smaller (5.4") or less capable (6.1"). 2020 may be the first time that I'll skip a year, even though I'm on the annual iPhone Upgrade Program.I hate to say it but I'm dreading the 2020 iPhones.
I don't understand what Apple is doing here? I don't want to get the low-end mid-tier "12" with the 6.1 inch screen, I want to get a Pro and I'm willing to spend... but it seems they are trying to make both Pro models less desirable?
