I really hope so for my XSM! Been waiting for the day that I can just use my iPhone as much as I wish without any worries of battery life or finding a nearby charger
You forgot the word extend, it’s not a plutonium power generator or a kilopower

Personally, I would have no need for this. I'm very pleased with the battery life on my XR. I can often go 2 days without touching a charger.

Same. I have a wireless charger by my bed, and one at my desk at work. I rarely get below 20% power, and thats while traveling. Just don’t see the need for something so ugly. Students maybe?

Hated it until I had one for my 7.

The design makes it super easy to hold.

Hope they go for one on the XS Max!

At least this looks better than the old one. I would like to know about how many additional hours it would give as compared to using a separate battery pack.

Wasn't there a rumor awhile back that the name AirPower was going to be reused on a completely different product? I think that would be a good name for this.....

I was kind of hoping they would come out with one of these. I don't generally need it, but there are times where it would be nice to have.. Just hope it works with wireless charging.

I liked the previous design. Sure, it didn’t look great. But it was fantastic to hold as it gave your thumb or pinky a ledge to stablilize the phone. It’s like all those jobs on cases nowadays.

New design doesn’t look to have the same utility. Better in pictures, but probably just bulk now.

Design is how it works, so I’ll wait and see. I wish Apple would just make thicker phones with better battery life. Clearly they know battery life is the top customer issue since it’s in their marketing, but the product team doesn’t care.

I think the need for these sort of cases is less than in the past. Low battery mode works really well for extra long days (just turn it on start of a long day, yet to not have it last crazy long time). Also, there are tons of portable battery packs that work well and are in many ways better because it doesnt have to be awkwardly attached to the iphone all the time.

And, Apple could just make iPhones 3mm thicker and negate much of the need for these sort of cases.

i could easily explain the reasoning behind: charging the magic mouse, charging the first apple pencil, the notch, removal of a headphone jack, and etc...

but the first Apple iPhone battery case design is something i cannot figure out.

They needed something that would fit with the bloody rim around the camera?

I'm not a designer or anything but like... you'd think you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone by making the phone 1mm thicker, hiding the camera's rim and spreading the battery evenly using the newfound thickness.

I can’t imagine needing this for my XS Max, even under intensive use, the battery life is incredible on this phone. And as large as smart phones are, I personally would not appreciate the added heft carrying in the pocket.

isn't it ugly looking?

Are you asking or telling? Regardless, for those who want this, they don’t care what it looks like, they want the extended battery life, so functionality trumps looks in this instance.

How would adding 1mm of thickness to the phone replace how big of a battery the case is able to hold? Even if you add 1mm of thickness they cant make the whole back of the phone part of the battery. The battery pack is much more than 1mm in thickness. It looks like it is probably an entire second battery roughly the same size as the iPhones initial battery.
