Apple Expected to Release iPhone XS Battery Case Soon, Possibly iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR Versions Too

i had a 3rd party battery case for my 7, and it was extremely useful when traveling all day or when i knew i would be away from an outlet for a long time, like at a baseball game or a music festival.

i rarely actually needed it to charge my phone, but it was reassuring to have it there in case i did.

Totally agree, actually really annoyed how they didn’t release one back then. That 1mm gap under the camera would be so annoying if I had to get a Xs one
 
An xsmax needs an additional battery as it won’t last the day..? What a complete and utter incredibly blatant rip-off. So spend even more money to buy a battery they should hv put in it in the first place and lose the advantages they promote as the reasons for buying it. Now you have an ugly heavy brick.

Seriously starting to see this con for what it is now.
 
Still ugly. There’s a white old one at our Best Buy that’s been hanging w/ a Clearance sticker on it since Oct.

It's all about how you use it. Mine usually lasts for two days, but then I'm not playing GPU extensive games on it all day. I certainly can stream, say, a soccer game and watch some Youtube and still go well over a day. The additional battery is just a useful battery life extender for those who need it or are too lazy to charge daily or every two days. I certainly don't need one.
 
I haven't felt the need for a battery case since the iPhone 5. Battery life is more than adequate on the XS Max. That being said, I'll probably get one cause I can't say no to anything :)
 
If you stick close to home and are able to put your phone on a charger every night, then you don't need one of these. A bit of a different story if you do a reasonable amount of traveling and don't want to be hassled by the issue of charging over, say, a weekend.

By the way, nobody should make fun of the bulge in the middle of the back. In the first place, it might look funny but it feels great in the hand. More importantly, it keeps the edges of the phone about the same thickness as a regular iPhone, so it eliminates the problem created by most rival products, that they are too fat to fit in many docks and cradles. Another benefit: most rival products drain your phone battery first and then switch over to the external one. On some, this requires you to be aware of the need to flip a switch when the time comes. On others the switch sometimes just fails to happen and you're stuck with a dead phone (yes, this does happen -- I had to toss one such case for just this reason). On the Apple product the external battery is drained first, eliminating all these issues. All around, these cases embody first-class engineering.

I can get beyond the looks. Having longer battery life on days you need it is awesome!

My Max is great for a day...but there are times when I would like more power...in the form of a case. Days I spend at Disneyland for example, I would love a battery cAse. Was there this week and saw people sitting on the floor plugged in to the walls to charge during their time at the park. No thanks! You use a lot of power when you are using the Disney app all day for wait times etc...and to keep kids entertained in line.

Or what about while traveling and using the phone for on foot navigation. Would love to not carry a separate battery pack!

If you don’t need one...don’t buy it. Most people won’t have a need for it.
 
Not sure what you guys are so excited about. These cases are ugly, and there are alternatives with similar, if not better capacity out there.

This is embarrassing design and a laughing joke for Apple brand.
seriously I don’t know why they even bother with such laughable product and why not just leave it to a third party company?

I'm not a designer or anything but like... you'd think you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone by making the phone 1mm thicker, hiding the camera's rim and spreading the battery evenly using the newfound thickness.

No...They needed a design that wouldn't interfere with the iPhone's antennas and compromise transmit/receive RF signal strength, diminishing range.

People will pile on and moan-n-whine anyway.
