I want a keyboard that is all emojis with alt options for power users who need traditional QWERTY functionality. Strip out all the old legacy alpha numeric stuff and put the emoji symbols right there on the keys.

Welp Apple, it's finally come to this. I hope you idiots eventually realize how stupid you are. I seriously think Jobs would fire all your morons for even considering an emoji button. I like the idea of a universal search button but don't take away my caps lock for emoji. I use caps lock far more than emoji...

If this rumor is true, my guess is that hitting the shift key twice would have the same effect as a caps lock, which is how the soft keyboard works on iPhone. There could be an indicator on the bottom of the iPad screen to show that caps lock is on.

Them having a potential keyboard with an emoji button says nothing about their priorities. The caps lock is barely used and should be replaced with something.

It's a compromise for a small keyboard area on the iPhone and it's OK on a larger keyboard. Still, I actually prefer having caps lock rather than an emoji shortcut.

How is Caps Lock an essential key? The only time I remember that it exists is when I need to figure out how to turn it off.

Besides, they'll probably implement the same behavior as iOS — double-tap shift for caps lock.

hmm... you know that england never switched to the Euro right? they'll have the £ as their currency, as they always have... im just saying, i don't have some impulsive need to "share" everything i come across, if it's something i want someone to see i'll cut and paste it to that person.
