I saw some episodes of Amazing Stories (I should finish it) but the general tone of the episodes didn’t catch my interest, and I don’t know why, I enjoyed the old 90’s Amazing Stories, Tales from the Crypt, The Outer Limits, etc...
Anthology shows are hard, as one gets no benefit from recurring characters, and/or on going plot lines. It means every episode has to land perfectly for the show to work.
If there is more sci-fi content I’d like to know, but I’m not sure if I’ll like it. What I’ve seen so far from Apple TV in this year is... boring? Everything is so morally correct, and... I don’t know. I should give Shiamalan’s show a try before canceling, I guess.
Just trying to understand, are you saying that
Amazing Stories is the only show you watched? I really liked
See (Science Fiction adjacent), and have heard great things about
Servant (horror-ish). Really looking forward to
Foundation. I keep seeing people make comments like your about their shows being “so morally correct” and all SJW, and I can only think of one that might fit that bill, so I am curious which you think do? Lots of the early reporting claimed that the shows would all be PG, with no violence,
etc. and that has not been true at all. Not sure if you like thrillers, but I have also heard great things about
Tehran. Also, as others and I have said,
Ted Lasso is great.
Thanks, I will give that a go, but I was asking for more mainstream streaming services. I think Disney+ had Discovery Channel documentaries.
Discovery, Inc. is not part of Disney+, but National Geographic is.
