I still pay for cable TV, or technically, IPTV. However, that's for the kids and the wife.

If they didn't want to watch their crap reality shows like The Masked Singer, along with stuff like Food Network and HGTV (yes my 6 year-old likes watching HGTV for some reason), I would have cancelled cable a long time ago. Luckily it's part of a bundle with internet and home phone, so I'm currently paying less than US$20 per month for cable TV (in Canada).

I haven’t received yet, and my free year expires in February. I will watch a few documentaries and then cancel my subscription, as I’m not interested in their fiction.

Does anyone know about a good streaming service with documentaries? Thank you.
Documentary+ is now available globally with full-feature documentaries and shorts. It can be accessed from apps on Apple TV, Amazon, Roku....

Meanwhile Netflix raises their subscription by $2, and not a single a subscriber flinched.
I flinched. Realizing that nobody in my family watches more than an hour or two on Netflix a month. Less than Disney+, HBO Max, and even peacock. Heck, we even watch Apple TV+ more often. I guess we’re all sick of dubbed low-budget foreign thrillers and game shows where people try to make pastries or crafts.

Decided to keep note of exactly how often anybody in the house watches Netflix for the next month or so and probably unsubscribe if it’s as rare as I think it is. We can always resubscribe for a month when content we actually want to see appears. We subscribe to pretty much everything, but $17/month for Netflix got me thinking.

Dear Apple, just give it up already and make TV+ a bonus service for your customers.

Free TV+ for a year after purchase of any Apple device - just like it was originally but without a ‘1 time only’ limitation.

can someone confirm how to check this? I don’t see anything about “credit” anywhere?

also, do others subscribed to Apple One still get “try Apple TV+ free for 12 months” stuff in the tv app all the time?

Not arguing with your opinion, just wanted to understand on what you were basing it. You tried 2 shows and 1 movie (out of over 45 shows and movies) and did not like them. Now that I know what you did not like and how many shows you evaluated, I have a better understanding of your opinion.
When you strike out with the first 3 tries. Your done.

Apple TV has a couple of OK things on it.

But it is trying to be the "catch all" and send everybody everywhere where there is income to be made.

It is annoying... I don't need Apple TV to tell me I can watch GhostBusters on "Subscription Platform Y" or "buy for $10" from platform X.

It is as messy as Apple News+ (got a 3 months free) - where it tries to implement "fancy" magazine styles - that does absolutely not work or keep me interested in reading them. I don't need/want fancy multimedia adverts or articles. A COUPLE of times it has been used with good effect to explain things like science stuff - but 99% is just "flap" and completely unuseful - just like Apple TV+

Meanwhile my apple tv+ trial was glitched before the 1 year was up and there's nothing they can do. lol

I believe the credit is for those with bundled services only... since they can't be unbundled. Anyone with a straight up Apple TV+ only account would merely have their renewal date extended into the future.

I haven't read it anywhere and is a guess on my part. I have only used £4.99 so far and my credit is currently zero after 3 months when it should be £9.98. Either the credit isn't being applied to my account or Apple are time limiting it and keeping very quiet about it.
How about you contact Apple.

To me this sounds like tv+ isn’t going as well as they hoped

I tried a bunch of stuff. Not for me.

cancelled already
It's purely due to the pandemic, which prevented filming on most of their exclusive series shows and thus, delaying their release. Apple knows that few people are going to sign up until they see that Apple can provide more than 1 season of content.

I got the e-mail, but I wasn't sure how it works for Apple One subscribers. Of course, I had just signed up for that because my free Apple TV+ was about to run out, and for $2 more than I was already paying, I get TV+ and Arcade.

CuriosityStream. At the moment there's a $12/year introductory subscription rate. There's an AppleTV and Amazon app.

Not a negative comment but is there anything on ATV+ worth watching? I've been hearing a lot of good things about Tehran but not much else.

That and I don't know how to find anything. It just seems way too confusing

Both of those have been AMAZING. Wanda vision has really peaked our interest. Funny too because my wife and I just started going through Bewitched (my first time). LOL.
Best comment from a friend about WandaVision was that when it is all over and the reveal occurs (explaining what is really happening), it will be a show we will all have to binge to see all the hidden things that we missed the first time, or we will all be so annoyed that we will want to forget we had watched it.

I thought it was visually amazing, and that it did a great job of matching the tone, but I did not care enough about the story to be in love with it. It was good enough that I expect to watch the rest, but I will be curious how long it takes before the reveal.

I cannot find any running record of any credit, an email receipt or running tally for this credit. I do have AppleOne and a significant credit balance of hundreds of dollars on my AppleID. Odd now there are no receipts or a way to really look up transaction history or a running transaction tab.

I would cancel Netflix if T-Mobile was not paying for most of it and my parents pay for the rest. My family watches Netflix, but I rarely watch it. I don't like their originals as all have to have LGBT agenda even their kids shows and movies. I rather watch HBO Max and Disney+. Also, I am liking CBS All Access soon to be Paramount+ with all the Nick content added.

As for Apple TV+ I don't like it. I hate how they mix PPV content with ATV+ content making harder to find. That is what I hate about Amazon Prime which I also rarely watch but my uncle watching Prime content more. I keep Amazon Prime for the 2-day shipping.

Where do you find this? My wife started a subscription back in the summer - what we have watched has been decent - there’s just not enough content to justify a monthly subscription at this point

For All Mankind and The Morning Show are good. Greyhound was a solid war movie.

See is decent but very slow and a challenge to get through after an amazing first episode. The pace really comes to a crawl through the mid season.
